What is Cyberpunk?

Cyberpunk is a science-fiction sub-genre dealing with the integration of society and technology in dystopian settings. Often referred to as “low-life and high tech,” Cyberpunk stories deal with outsiders (punks) who fight against the oppressors in society (usually mega corporations that control everything) via technological means (cyber). If the punks aren’t actively fighting against a megacorp, they’re still dealing with living in a world completely dependent on high technology.

These are all just rumors so far, so I doubt it'll happen. But if it means the Neuromancer series is actually moving forward, I'm all for that.

Neuromancer seems cursed when it comes to adaptations. There have been many attempts over the years and not a single one made it to the screen.

Hmm, do you think they did a good job with Foundation?

I actually feel the opposite about those two series. Foundation series diverges from the books in a really fun and welcome way. Silo series felt pretty watered down from the books.

Apple Inc.(AAPL) is a very funny company to be producing adaptations of classic cyberpunk novels

While true, IMO they’re kinda killing it with their sci-fi shows.

Isn't Pattinson a bit buff for a junkie hacker like Case?

He's an actor who will change his physique for a role if needed. You can see how Bale changed for The Mechanic for an example.

Assuming you mean The Machinist? I suppose expecting an actor to physically alter themselves that much to the detriment of their own health is pretty cyberpunk!

Yeah. My bad.

I don't expect that level of altering, just that being buff right now doesn't mean much.

I'm down, he's been crushing it for the past 7-8 years.
