Yeah, this report is designed with a transportation agenda in mind, so the graph only shows a select set of emission sources to make the tailpipe emissions look as bad as possible. Add in all other sources of emissions and the graph doesn't look quite as impressive for the point they're trying to make.

Figure 1: In the 2019 statewide greenhouse gas emissions inventory, car tailpipes accounted for 119 MMTCO2e — roughly 28% of California’s overall emissions, and more than the emissions from the entire buildings sector and electricity sector combined.

Yep. And quakes tend to make my dog run around like a maniac peeing everywhere. Fun times.

I feel ya. I have a dog and three cats, but so far have not had an issue with hair or cable chewing. The frame is essentially just a kit of 2020 extruded aluminum t-slot rails with connectors. If I were to do this again, I would probably not go with a kit and instead just buy the rails and connectors I need for my specific motherboard/components. Also, any extra rails/connectors you get could go toward a DIY 3D printing frame (that's my next project)!

For my ITX build I went with this open frame so I can really customize the placement of each component and keep everything nice and compact. I'll probably build a cover to go over this frame at some point. Also, I just want to add that this is an incredible app and I really appreciate all of the work you put into this!

I'm trying out those settings you suggested and it does seem like it would mostly solve the issue for me, but you can see from the volume of comments that I am not alone in being unaware of the magic combination of settings that would make the default behavior of the app less frustrating.

I think it's still a good idea to either prevent the back button from taking the user from their Posts page to the Communities page, or to include a method of returning to the last spot in the Posts page.

When browsing posts, it's far too easy to click the back navigation button on my device which currently takes me to the Communities page. The problem is, once you move away from the Posts page there doesn't seem to be any way of returning to your previous place in the Posts page.

This could be solved a couple of ways:

  1. Disable the device's back navigation button from moving you away from the Posts page.
  2. Have some method of remembering and returning your the previous place in the Posts page.

In LA, I would have said the Cineramadome, but they closed during pandemic. We've still got Egyptian, Aero, and Nuart though.

I'm also not a fan of memes, but I acknowledge that many other people are. The most I can do is block communities that are expressly for memes and shrug off the rest. There's plenty of other places for grouches like us.

I'm in the process of de-googling, and for the most part I'm pretty okay with using separate services for things like email, photos, calendar, etc... but the few things that I really like having bundled are Google Docs and Sheets in my Google Drive.

There's plenty of good alternatives for cloud storage, but I haven't seen any that come with any sort of office-like products. I know that I can self host my own private cloud storage and something like OpenOffice, but I'm hoping to find an existing cloud solution so I don't have to bother with that maintenance.

Any recommendations?

You're right that there's a lot of spam, but I use Craigslist all of the time for finding stuff like furniture, tools, appliances, etc. Still seems pretty good in those categories.

Hell yes! Love Clifton's!

On one hand, there will always be idiots and those who will take advantage of them.

On the other hand, I think less people would be susceptible to "alternative" remedies if there was more trust in the medical industry. That trust has been eroded quite a bit over the years.

Hello Austinites! I'm going to be flying into your beautiful city for the eclipse in a few weeks and would love to find a nice secluded spot for the best experience. Unfortunately, every car rental company is totally sold out that week so I don't have the ability to get very far out of town.

Any advice on good spots within rideshare distance, or maybe viewing groups that are renting minibuses to get a little further out?

In what way? I'm not aware of any controversy around Schiff.

Come out for a great time, or just know what streets to avoid.

Trepany House is selling tickets to the live performances of Bride of Blood, a horror/comedy with puppetry taking stage on 1/13, 1/20, and 1/27 at the Titmouse Warehouse in East Hollywood. I'm not affiliated with Trepany or Titmouse, but I dig weirdo performances like this.

I tend to not hear about expeditions until it's too late... does anyone know of a way to get email or push notifications for upcoming expeditions?
