I'm the kind of person who gets irrationally annoyed at stuff like this in movies and every time I watch it I can't help but exclaim how just turning the massive cliff faucets on willy nilly is absurd
that scene is supposed to be visually cathartic, not make you pull out your protractor to calculate how many liters of water they're using

Margaret Atwood is a self-described monarchist and tory. Also Oryx and Crake is her best novel (that I've read)
I didn't like Oryx bc it was so relentlessly miserable but looking back I have to admit she was mostly right about the miserable parts. I have no idea what the bits about snowman and the crakers was trying to say.
Is identifying the problem but saying a solution is impossible just an atwood thing?
