You don't have to have meat to grill 
you can grill your landlord
When i was in my late teens we build a grill by buying the metal bit of an old car wheel. It was about a dollar. Then we got some rebar and made a tripod and the removable grill with them. Very cheap.
A climate change analogy would be the earth is a burger on the grill that turned into charcoal two years ago and your only response is to flip the burger

Could always try to find one of the old metal shopping carts
Thats a terrible idea. Those are usually galvanized and you do not want to expose that to high temperatures especially if you plan to eat off of it.
