It'd be so goddamn funny if the only voiced opposition to Biden in the DNC is from Jerry Nadler and Mark Warner instead of "Berniebros" or "The Squad" and he still ends up being the nominee, losing, and then we have to hear 4 years of "the left cost us American Democracy™️"

And no amount of pointing that out would change their tune.

"Stand by to take the blame, kif" :zap_brannigan:

Biden's brains could literally start leaking out his ears and then Bernie wouldn't even say "no comment". He'd simply always run away quickly from reporters as if dinner was ending soon and the Senate bean soup was on sale in the Senate dining room.

no way Bernie asks his good friend to step down

Bernie has to go down with the ship. He willingly climbed aboard after telling us the thing was unsafe.

To be fair, I assume them asking for it is basically guaranteeing the rest of the Dems will instantly fall back in line.

Lmao they're the ones who pushed for "progressives" to vote for him last time. They wont do or say anything

They've been quiet.

Assuming they agree he should go (probably a safe assumption except maybe for Bernie), it's probably smarter of them to stay quiet, or the story could become about the crazy irresponsible lefties trying to force out Biden rather than the Democrats as a party trying to get him out. If they spoke up now, it would probably make him more likely to stay.

It's infighting among party insiders. Since their branding is the plucky underdog who speaks truth to power^TM^, it doesn't politically benefit them at all to publicly commit to a side since they would essentially be siding with a faction of insiders. Right now, there's no clear winner, so that also carries the risk of siding with an eventual losing faction and facing swift reprisal from the future winning faction.

In the end, they lack political clout and influence to actually swing a particular faction they want in their favor. From the perspective of the faction that they are supporting, their support is completely useless, meaning they will not be rewarded for their loyalty. From the perspective of the squad, their support just puts a giant bulleye on their backs. They will most likely be aloof and dodge all questions asking them what faction they support until the very end where they will join the winning team to demonstrate that they don't really oppose the winning faction or support the losing faction(s).

It would be strategically moronic for them to speak up right now. We already know their stance, at least the few who have criticized Israel, is at least a "soft" no for Joe. Meaning if literally anyone else comes along not named Joe Biden then that is preferable.

Also, expecting elected US representatives or senators to openly shit on the leader of the party when they've all been critical of him for other legitimate reasons is setting oneself up for disappointment. Should they express themselves more? Yeah, I'd like that. But it's not gonna happen. I think people need to hard chop draw a big ass line | in their brains between US electoralism (ie EVERY candidate basically is dogshit) and their own personal ideology. The very fact that anyone here (hopefully) read a Marx or Lenin book, just one!, means you are like multiple degrees to the left of anyone in an elected seat in the US. At a certain point the criticisms are just ranting. Ok, rant away. But if the intent is to have actual criticisms which are realistic within our dogshit world, expecting AOC to go out and shout "off with his demented head!" is very unrealistic. Don't shoot the messenger here either (me)
