Even with GOP and independent headwinds on more restrictions, lawmakers could still find support: Enforcing background checks on all potential gun buyers earns bipartisan support, with 93% of Democrats and 68% of Republicans in favor.

MODERATORS
When congress does not represent the will of the vast, vast majority of Americans, what is the point?
They haven’t represented the will of the people for 35+ years. The only people the represent are big corp lobbyists.
It’s all about the Benjamin’s, aka pay me a $4,000,000 fee and I will make a bill to propose your desires.
They had any to begin with? These are folks who would likeley make it a ritualistic tradition that at the age of 12 you be given an AR-15 as a sign of your passage into adulthood.
Also the GOP is a contrarian party. They oppose access to healthcare… just cause. Even when democrats presented a republican governor’s plan for the issue l, the GOP started up with the whole “socialism” and "death panels".
They have no point or purpose, they just oppose progress for the highest bidder.
