…but I feel like it isn’t as straightforward as that when you look at it in context kamala-coconut-tree. None of them will acknowledge that the specific project he donated to was a voter turnout PAC after Trump lost 2020, which 1) are there even any conservative/republican movements to increase voter turnout? And 2) I could imagine a disaffected conservative 17 year old blaming the 2020 democrat victory on insufficient turnout (yes I know it was a record year, but not everyone realizes that) and turning to support the only project that looks like it’s trying to solve this “problem”. I remember when I was around that age some of my high school teachers encouraged registering to vote and actually doing so once we were of age, stressing that they want everyone to do it even if our beliefs don’t align with theirs. I don’t know what teachers are like now or in whatever small town in PA he was from, but based on my experience it’s not hard to imagine someone young who might have political beliefs but no knowledge of how the political system works fixating on one factor like voter turnout.

You look at the timing, you look at the specific group he donated to, you look at how old he was at the time (and add in that people who knew him in high school said he expressed more right wing views) and I just don’t see it as definitive evidence that he was left leaning.

Also a lot of chuds are saying he was only registered as a republican because of that fringe lib movement earlier this year to register republican and beat Trump in the primaries, but wikipedia says he was registered republican since 2021 when he turned 18.

I know it’s still too early to try to make a full picture of his motives, and ultimately we may never know, but at this point I’m not convinced he was secretly leftist or whatever narrative the chuds are pushing.

What little we know about his personality is he liked to wear hunting clothes, right wing guntuber merch, and he was into guns.

He was right wing, probably a 4chan pilled extreme right winger

There’s a picture of him wearing a shirt with Mount Rushmore and the US flag as the background and it’s like, do chuds really think those are leftist’s two favorite things 🤦‍♀️

Considering they think socdems are violent communists, yes.

Bet he wanted to kill Trump to cause a civil war, not because he tough he was dangerous.

🎶Can you repeat the question?🎶

I saw the post suggesting that was the case, but within that is a twitter post saying otherwise, and no major news outlets have refuted it

The point of my post is, even if it was him (and it may as well be since that’s the narrative everyone is going with) I don’t see it as proof that he was a liberal/leftist

A $15 donation isn't exactly good proof of an ideological commitment hardcore enough to try to illegal-to-say

I find it really weird that there's a scramble to figure out which political party he "belonged" to. He was clearly not engaging in electoral politics or the democratic process lol.

Hogs want to use this to justify increasing state oppression against leftists and marginalized groups. It’s easier to do if the Trump shooter was “antifa” rather than one of their guys who crashed out

I think he lost a bet

No idea what's up with the $15 donation, but everything indicates conservative so I'm guessing libertarian and suicidal.

It doesn't matter. It's the wrong question to ask.

We should be pointing out the material conditions that create such despair that people just decide to shoot up a school or try to take out major politicians, etc. Capitalism creates killers.
