I struggle to believe this narrative tbh.

Without saying too much, behind closed doors Rudd was known by people on the inside as being paranoid and borderline megalomaniacal. I don't think that his place at the head of the Labor party would have lasted because as soon as it was politically convenient to get rid of him, it would have happened because he pissed too many people off and he was extremely difficult to work under.

But it's nice to have an example to point at when A*stralians invoke "the purges" with a horrified whisper. Bruh, if you're so quick to denounce purges then why didn't you freak out about it when it happens in your own country hm?
