Neat, can't wait to miss it.
Starfield has fundamental issues that no amount of modding or DLC is going to repair. I don't think I've ever been less excited for a content update for a game I own.

Remember when No Man's Sky bombed on release but the developers admitted they fucked up and made an effort to mend both the game and their relationship with their player base? That could have happened here.
It's Bethesda we're talking about. My expectations aren't high.
I watched the trailer and I have absolutely no idea what this expansion adds to the game.
Are there like any new gameplay mechanics?
It's a new story all contained in one planet, with everything being handcrafted instead of procgen.
On a side note, I can't remember the last time I played a DLC that added new mechanics
EDIT: folks, it's nice that we're sharing games with DLCs that alter or add game mechanics, but let's not forget that I said "I can't remember the last time I played"
Skyrim, crossbows. Mass Effect 2, hammerhead levels. Xcom, cyborg mecha super soldiers. Age of Mythology, the titans.
Oh I thought it was supposed to be a big update like an expansion kind of thing, it was kinda hard to understand from the trailer the scale of this update.
I guess a handcrafted world will definitely stand out, since most of the procedural content got repetitive so fast.
Well it is an expansion pack, but nowadays I guess the distinction is kinda lost. I haven't gotten to start it yet since I'm battling terrible performance right now (a 3080 and 7800x3d are getting 40fps on low with DLSS performance on 2160p), I also haven't seen anything about the DLC, but I expect it to have some new ~~shouts~~ starborn powers, weapons/weapon types and some 20+ hours of content judging by the 40£ tag.
A lot of Paradox DLCs. You're essentially forced to buy the next DLC or miss out on sometimes literal game-changing mechanics.
I can’t think of a single DLC I've ever played in my entire life that didn’t add new mechanics
Even more fast travel load screens!
Wondering the same thing, honestly
I didn't even get past the mid point of the story, game's too boring and the loading screens are too ass.
The ending is stupid. It's fuckin dumb.
I lost interest after they added real money missions
Yeah, fuck this microdlc approach, it fucks up what the "base game" is for mods.
Let me buy the whole game and fuck off, come back when you've made something worth paying for.
New Vegas DLCs were basically missions of the same storyline, but were good. This sucks.
And nothing of value was gained.
I wonder if you have to complete the base game before you can do this expansion?
Nope, they recommend being level 35 at least but I'm not sure if it's a requirement. While jumping from planet to planet you might encounter the Oracle, which is where the DLC starts.
I can't wait to play this. But I'm currently sick so hopefully I'm better by the nightfall and can actually forget about how congested my fucking dumbass nose is. I'd seriously hate to miss this DLC
How can you miss a DLC. Is it a limited time release?
i don't want to get anything spoiled really
Oh OK, now I get it. :)
I think the complaints for Starfield are valid but I love this game. I can get sucked into it for days trying to complete random side quests while decorating my ship or house
I guess shattered horizon was already taken and dead...
