My question is in the context of imperialism and how the main contradiction turn socdem countries in the global south to align with the USA or BRICS

Dunno if it will help you at all but MR Press recently released the English translation of Domenico Losurdo's book Western Marxism which was originally published in 2017. Haven't read it cover to cover yet but it seems to be about why leftists in the imperial core are so behind.
