WE'RE ~~NOT~~ GOING BACK!

[–] [email protected] 87 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Remember when we thought he was hosed and were laughing about how he totally wasted this moment?

[–] [email protected] 146 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The thing is, he DID waste it.

And then Kamala hired Hillary's campaign advisers, got rid of her 2 most popular slogans (We're not going back + They are weird) and started hugging Dick Cheney's right-wing daughter. Kamala's campaign is somehow more embarrassing and incompetent than Hillary's, and that's saying something.

[–] [email protected] 80 points 1 week ago (1 children)

hired Hillary's campaign advisers

Lol Lmao

[–] [email protected] 46 points 1 week ago

they can't keep getting away with it!

I choose to believe that it’s the happy birthday tweet that did her in

[–] [email protected] 86 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Nah, objectively and logically it was when she said who-must-go must go.

[–] [email protected] 57 points 1 week ago (3 children)

The more I see this happening the more I believe it

[–] [email protected] 39 points 1 week ago

Alright I’m not gonna lie that’s funny as fuck lmao

She really tried to get all the jinx's

[–] [email protected] 29 points 1 week ago

He wasted it, but he was playing against the Washington Generals in this election cycle.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 week ago

This was the easiest election to win for both parties, yet they kept fumbling

Imagine still being correct 100 years after your death

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

not hard to imagine at this point

honestly seems like the most basic fucking sense, what is wrong with people

[–] [email protected] 72 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm on r/politics so I can enjoy some classic reddit-logo posts

[–] [email protected] 33 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh, wow, I haven't visited r/politics in so many years. This is something else. A real blast of nostalgia.

Seeing these awful, smug people so lost and confused and angry almost makes me feel good. They have no idea what's going on.

Can someone please explain it to me?

[–] [email protected] 89 points 1 week ago (3 children)

You see, the chapotraphouse subreddit was big supporters of Bernie Sanders so when he lost the Dem election in 2019 there was chaos there mostly coping and the most upvoted Post in that time became a Picture of Lenin saying "and were did that bring you? Back to me" and the MLs started talking about the failures of electoralism in liberal democracy and radicalising the bernie people

It was a fun time

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I knew I first saw the meme there but is that actually its origin too?

[–] [email protected] 49 points 1 week ago (2 children)

Technically the quote "And where did that bring you? Back to me." is a line Thanos says in Avenger's Endgame. It became a larger meme that then birthed the chapo bit and you know the rest.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 week ago (1 children)

FUCK yes thank you I knew there was something else to it, I've seen exactly zero MCU shit since Iron Man so I forgot about that

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago (1 children)

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Lenin was the man who pushed for the socialists in Russia to rise up in active revolution when nearly all other socialist leaders wanted to collaborate with the bourgeois government. He single-handedly made sure the October Revolution was launched an the USSR was created. He also spent lots of years arguing against other socialists who thought working inside electoral systems was the "right" way to bring about progressive changes.

I don't know how it's possible that both Lenin and Schwarzenegger remind me of my dad, but here I am I guess.

Time is a flat circle

[–] [email protected] 30 points 1 week ago

damn to think that image has haunted my dreams for over four years now

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 week ago

I love how this meme has become a posting tradition every US election since the Chapo subreddit days.

[–] [email protected] 28 points 1 week ago

Thank you Mr Lenin, sir

I'm fully expecting that people will get more angry on DEI/"ugly" characters and other bullshit cultural war than actually even attempt at becoming politically aware. pain

[–] [email protected] 21 points 1 week ago
