I love Liftoff. Very active development 😌

[–] [email protected] 20 points 1 year ago

So far Connect, but I'll be checking out Boost & Sync when they get released.

Liftoff. I've tried a few others but Liftoff for some reason loads a lot faster compared to the others. On average it's about half the time compared to Thunder or Jerboa. At least for me.

I really like the UI with Liftoff. I switch back and forth with Connect because Connect has a bit more functionality though for things like trending communities. I also prefer the swipe from the left menu.

Liftoff is great.

Connect for now, but I'll probably switch to Boost for Lemmy when it's released.

Just switched to this as I found Jerboa a bit buggy. All good so far, I like the swipe actions but have no idea how to downvote with them enabled, any ideas?

Liftoff for now until boost is released.

I really like using Voyager. One of the first web apps I've ever used that feels (almost) as good as a native app. Great features and clearly inspired by Apollo, which I loved.

Smoothest one is the power app Voyager. But it lacks lot of cached content (everytime redraws as we scroll).

I'm honestly waiting for Boost for Lemmy My favourite in Reddit was Infinity (smoothest one as well) but Boost was also great. Same level of quality.

For now I'm using Jerboa until Sync for Lemmy gets released

I'm using Jerboa. It's the first thing I tried and it works well enough so I'm sticking with it for now.

I love Loftoff so far, but I'll probably move to Boost once it's released, since that's what I used for Reddit for many years

I end up using connect the most.

It's the closest to the way I prefer things ui wise, and the available themeing options work best for my eyes.

But the gap between it, liftoff, and thunder is tiny. They've each got some specific features that are damn nice, and they all function well.

Summit is only a tad behind in the feature realm, and looks incredible, just really nice layout and contrast.

Jerboa is bare minimum as this point. It does all the basics, and isn't ugly. But it's prone to crashes when you try to follow links, randomly decides to say "fuck you" when scrolling and not fetch anything else, and it doesn't seem to be a heavily focused development project, it's slow to change (which wouldn't be bad if there weren't flaws that need to be changed).

Everything else I've tried has either been a flop (for me), or is stalled development wise (alas, slide for lemmy is among the stalled).

So far, Thunder. Tried them all at some point and initially liked Liftoff most, but they had some showstopper bugs. Probably fixed by now, but after making the switch, I'm not switching again unless Sync is out.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

I'm using Summit (because I'm the dev)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Using liftoff probably until lemmotif is ready

It's another android app for lemmy that's pretty barebones right now. I think the UI looks the best than the other options so far.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Jerboa, try all other app. Jerboa is the one I chose

Really clean UI, everything does what it's supposed to.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Current Voyager. But as soon as Sync for Lemmy is released I'm pretty sure it'll be that, as Sync is what I used for Reddit.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Voyager now has an β€˜android’ mode that changes the ui slightly for android users, so if you were initially turned off by Voyager’s iOS-style looks, try it again and enable the android mode in settings.

... which became Voyager. It is PWA app i.e. you can use it on iOS, android, desktop where modern browser can be installed.

I was loving liftoff until the last update, something about the UI is just off for me since the update, I can't fully out my finger on it. Clearly a personal issue and not an app issue.

But In answer to the question I'm back using Jerboa

[–] [email protected] 3 points 1 year ago

Same, the font size issues I posted on [email protected] made me switch to Jerboa

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

Summit, no janky scrolling

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Thunder and Jerboa

[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago
[–] [email protected] 1 points 1 year ago

Liftoff or Voyager.

I use Memmy mostly but it needs a ton of features. It started to fall behind in the frantic pace this past week because the dev had a family emergency. Because of these limitations, I also use Voyager and Liftoff.
