The API changes were the last straw; but it had been heavily destroyed by astroturfing for years before the API restrictions finally just pushed me over the edge.

Technically, the fediverse would be even easier to astroturf. Luckily we’re early enough that astroturfing is foolish on Lemmy.

Little known fact: all mattes are shot on first generation film. Kubrick would shoot the matte, put the film in storage, put it back in camera, then shoot the inside of the matte. It looks pristine to this day because there was no generation loss since there was only one generation even in the most effects heavy shots.

Don’t go to college. Run away to a country that doesn’t have a US military base and live a simple, happy, peaceful life.

Obligatory nod to the book that informed me about the true nature of the World Bank, our CIA, and what disgusting activities firms like (back then Chas T. Main) and today McKinsey are actually directly responsible for overseas.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confessions_of_an_Economic_Hit_Man

It boiled down to this threat from operatives with ties to our government agencies: “Either you, (a foreign ruler) accept the terms of our exorbitant loan from the world bank in order to ‘’update your infrastructure’’ or we unseat you (by whatever means necessary) until someone who will sign our loan is in power.”

This is standard operating procedure for the CIA along with the world bank. Read “Confessions of an Economic Hitman” for more detail on this, which is, IMO, actually what our CIA has done all around the world.

This is actually what most CIA agents are doing. They work for America ™️

It’s funny to see someone that is such a neolib that they’d characterize a guy who ran a botched presidential campaign as “straight shooter”.

In this video, Michael Madoff, Group Product Manager for Governance at IOG explains Cardano’s governance system and in particular the role of the Constitutional Committee.

Decentralized governance and decision-making are crucial to ensuring that everyone has a voice and control over the Cardano protocol's future development. The Cardano governance model reflects this by demonstrating the achievability of liquid and representative democracy through individual participation and immutable vote recording. ADA holders can decide on treasury fund distribution and the platform's future development. So, as a community, how can we work together to outline policies and guidelines for the future development of Cardano and ensure that everyone has a say?

Cardano governance has a clear roadmap to bring the Cardano community through this whole process. The Cardano Constitution defines the policies and rules to enable sustainable growth of Cardano's ecosystem to ensure fair participation, protection, and a foundation to meet current and future demands.

Understand the role of the Constitutional Committee, the stages involved, how the constitution will be ratified, Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) 1694, on-chain governance features, expansion of governance capabilities, the roles of DReps and ADA holders, and more.

It helps them ignore actually doing good things for their constituents. Identity politics is what fascists use to work voters into a frenzy to manipulate them into voting for them in order to sneak extreme corporatism into office.
