the new local prices shit doesn't make any fucking sense like I guess I have to literally make tools IN this province for them to be cheap enough for people to actually want to use them? I don't fucking know. Don't explain it to me I don't care I'll figure it out

i mean irl i'd rather be a subsistence farmer than a gold miner

[–] [email protected] 7 points 10 months ago

I doubt anyone wanted to be a miner back then lol.

it's now the #8 most productive gold field in the world

employing 50 people, producing nothing

market access in hokkaido: 25%

but the fucking peasants don't want to work in the subsidized railways, either!

Getting those collectivization urges huh

It’s because your farmers make more money than they would if they were a gold miner. Unlocking subsidization would kickstart it until the gold mine wages rise enough, or you can wait/encourage migration until the province has a large enough pop that they have no choice but to work in the mines since it’s the only job

Hah, you're very welcome! I'm always glad to hear someone else benefited from it.

When i was doing bigypt parenti-hands even before local prices, my mines in sinai couldn't find a machinist for 160 salary.

Is micromanaging armies as fiddly as it seemed or nah?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

Don't know if it's still the same, but back at launch you could be pretty lazy with armies so long as you organized them properly and it would work well 80%+ of the time. Insane micro makes armies way more effective, but if you don't mind being a bit less effective it's okay to ignore that.
