Finally got around to listening to this episode...bleak stuff, but thank you for sharing. TAL's strength is telling human stories and I guess it's hard to tell these stories (the stories of Gaza and of the Biden Administration's continuation of Trump's shunning asylum seekers) without making the status quo look terrible. Definitely going to be sharing the asylum half of the episode with some lib friends and family.
Also as far as that section about the rural hospital in financial crisis goes, goddamn the US really is a failed fucking state. You've got a vital healthcare facility desperately begging for money to stay open (falling on the deaf ears of the state and federal governments) while the same federal government sends billions of dollars to Israel to genocide Palestinians.
