Now I'm thinking of him and Bill Cat looking like the human Bill and Ted. Bill Cat with long shaggy metalhead hair and Ted Cat with a mullet

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I'm trying to get some pics of Bill and Ted together. They are excellent to each other now. 🤗😸😸

Last night we went to Ravenna Gorge Christmas market, not too far from Freiburg. It. Was. AWESOME. It’s under a train viaduct thing that gets lit up in various colours. It was so atmospheric and fun, we really enjoyed it. Highly recommend if you’re in Germany at Christmas market time.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

Germany at Christmas is magic. I spent an amazing Christmas in Nuremberg about 20 years ago. Snow, Christmas lights, Tannenbaum's, glühwine.... So so nice. Enjoy

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago (2 children)

This really does highlight just how underwhelming Christmas is Australia. Here the local councils and shopping centers throw up some cheap plastic decorations and say yeah that'll do.

That is fucking gorgeous.

Sitting here contemplating flipping a coin as to whether I'll go for an overnight road trip border adventure but realised I need to get out of this apartment so the answer is already Go.

Gah! Just found out something I purchased 3 days ago went on sale literally hours after I bought it.

Can’t do much since it’s a digital product but it has left me a bit sour.

On the bright side it was worth it for full price so it takes the edge off at least.

I'm in trouble for daring to use a laptop on my lap. Don't I know laps are for cats?

Ted Cat has good days and bad days. He still bites sometimes. ( and not nips either 😬) but generally he's a lot calmer and I think a bit happy His fur is growing back nicely, into a cat mullet . I'll try to get some pics :)

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

I need twenty pics ASAP. The presidents life depends on it

Spent the day in the sun, and despite taking precautions I've made myself sun sick... Smothering myself in aloe and climbing into bed with an ungodly amount of water.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 8 months ago* (last edited 8 months ago) (1 children)

Yeah, after repeated soaking and washing these blankets still smell. They really let that shit get baked in there. I may also be looking at a new pet pram.

Feeling understimulated but lazy and my hand hurts from scrolling. I don't want to practice real art stuff. I just want to shitpost and trace memes. Bored.

What are these Hot Take days?

Stubbed my big toe yesterday on a door while closing it. Can't walk on it and it fucking hurts. Been icing it and resting all day. Hopefully it's not broken, but I'm still gonna be stuck home resting because of it either way.

Wishing today won't get any worse...

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

Ooh back during COVID times I was in iso as a close contact and managed to stub my toe (right foot, left of pinky toe) so hard into the side of one of the reinforced concrete doors we had at the last joint that I did indeed break it. Broken toes suck in general because there's not really much to be done for them, just rest, Panadol, and it'll (probably) fix itself. And since I was in iso (never tested positive though) going to a hospital wasn't very practical, and getting a home doctor in had such a long wait that I didn't even bother

I bought a really nice mud cake to bring along to the neighborhood Christmas party tonight. I just stare at it occasionally and think about keeping it all to myself now.😭

Spotify has decided I need a mix of Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix, Rodriguez and Fantastic Negrito as a salve for the week. This is excellent

I think I made a mistake with my pie. I had a tart dish where you can remove the bottom, but I thought it was too small so I went and bought a glass pie dish. I put the biscuit base direct on the glass and now I’m worried it’s going to be stuck. I should have put down baking paper first. Worst comes to worst, dessert will be a deconstructed pie.

Ugh. I was planning on going on a train thing today, and have been a bit nervous all week (it's a private members train run by a heritage organisation, so most people on there really like trains, and I've had a few bad experiences with a few of the diehards). I hopped into bed at 11:10 and started trying to sleep at 11:30ish. Ever since I've been seeing the time on the clock tick on and on and on every time I adjusted positions and definitely haven't fallen asleep. Except at 2:20 I saw the time and kept trying to sleep, then at 2:30 I woke up because I had a really bad dream (pretty sure it was almost a daydream). And now I'm feeling sick, upset stomach kinda

I don't even know if there's a point trying to push past. Nothing's really happened, so I'm almost wondering if I'm not actually sick but have just gotten so nervous I made myself sick or something. If I managed to sleep right now, I'd get around 3.5 hours of sleep, and that doesn't seem enough to enjoy much of it

Over the last couple of hours I've applied butter (salted cow butter) to my face and forearms as something of an experiment. I've got a couple of excma spots in of each of my elbows, which is rare for me. I'll update in near future!

I splurged on Valhalla Old English Toffee ice cream from Leo's. Truly excellent decision, spectacular ice cream.

Oh hey bot good to see. I have a little hack for you. Next time you're at a Christmas party and everyone is enjoying karaoke using Spotify through the the telly (I don't know how it happens. I go out for a smoke and magic happens) and the lyrics aren't synced, open it on your phone and tap on the lyrics a couple of times and the music then syncs to the lyrics and you'll be an accidental hero like Steven Bradbury. You are welcome.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

I'm salty with the lyrics website Spotify uses. Some knob evidently didn't understand Australian and completely fucked up a couple of lines to the point the lyrics made absolutely zero sense. I suggested a change and while I was there I decided to try and time the lyrics along to the song as well. Evidently they thought my edit suggestion was vandalism and rejected the entire thing, so not only did the edit not make it through, they rejected my lyric timing too

And lyric timing on that website is or was a pain in the arse to get set up. They don't want people using the lyrics website to listen to Spotify for free, so you have to do this whole convoluted procedure where you link your Spotify account to it. The controls were counter intuitive and the way you time is by listening to the song and pressing the + button when a new line starts. Sometimes it would just randomly not register your button push (I'd say one in every 5 pushes or so) and you'd have to go back a few lines (with the only option being manually rewinding - which deleted the progress of any lines after the point you rewound to)

And half the time the lyrics don't even fucking work or some absolute moron has timed them completely wrong (I saw one where they started the new line at end of the singer finishing singing. Wtf?????)

Quick question for the over 30's crowd:

How many times a month would you go for a big night out, and roughly how much do you spend?

Trying to sort my budget out. Fun Saturday night activity lol

I just realised I'm spending a shitload (upto 5x) the norm on nights out. Time to tighten the belt a bit.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago

0 times a month.

[–] [email protected] 6 points 8 months ago (3 children)

I'm 40 and I'd have to try to remember which year was the last time I went for a big night out

Have too many celebrations to attend this weekend. So could I please have 2 extra days and a potful of coffee please.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago (1 children)

Apologies. Time is not available for purchase at this hour. We have substituted your order with coffee 🫖🫖🫖

[–] [email protected] 3 points 8 months ago (1 children)

I keep being told that time is money. How then does this work? Thank you for the coffee.
