getting a sleep study done this week to see if i have Sometimes My Body Forgets To Breathe While Asleep syndrome. 🀞

it's taken years to get to the point where i have health insurance that makes that possible. i'm so fuckin ready

At one time in my life I went 6+ months sleeping 6 or less hours a day. I was young so for a while it was just tiredness, but after some time it progressed to forgetting stuff, feeling hazy, irritability and falling asleep wherever. Do not recommend.

going through that rn

In general I try to get 8 hours of sleep each night but those 8 hours feel different depending on the hour I wake up. Last night I slept from 21.30 to 5.30 but I feel worse than when I sleep from 12 am to 8 am for example. There must be more to it than 'just sleep 8 hours'

It's not just sleeping a consistent amount but also sleeping at consistent times. Waking up at 5:30 after 8 hours can feel decent if you consistently do it for a bit.

Yea I always find that when I wake up before the sun rises I feel super tired no matter how much sleep I’ve gotten

My sleep schedule is pretty garbage right now and it's really unfortunate

[–] [email protected] 9 points 8 months ago

It does. I'm on an anti-psychotic/anti-depressant right now that knocks me the fuck out for 12 hours at a time, though, which is really rough. I can barely wake up the next morning and I'm late to a lot of things, even political events I genuinely want to be at. There have been times where I sleep from 11pm to 1pm the next day completely uninterrupted.

Now when I don't take them, I literally cannot sleep. Last night I was up all night and then I conked at 8am until 1pm.

Don't fuck with your sleep.

You guys sleep?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 8 months ago

I’m tired 90% of the time, but I’m so used to it that I don’t feel tired until there’s a lull.

I get maybe 5-7 hr of sleep a night. I got 7 hr last night and 4 hr the night before.
