Hi All,

Following diagnosis of issues we think the site has now succesfully upgraded to 0.18.3.

PLEASE check all of your favourite communities ASAP and let us know if there are any issues, so if we do need to roll back again we don't lose too much data.

I really appreciate everyone's patience with us with this, we hit an issue with the postgres database and have learned many lessons from this experience!

Please note, mobile/beta/front end sites might not be updated yet. I've pulled all the latest updates now but if there are any errors hopefully they'll be fixed soon.

Did you end up seeing the same sort of improvements in database size as last time?

FYI using Voyager web app installed from vger.app with no issues at all, thanks

We've reduced the DB size by about 30gb, so massive improvement.

Glad voyager is working!

Everything seems to work fine for me

I appear to be having trouble connecting to [email protected]

I've never visited it before, though, so i doubt it's synced to lemmy.zip. if anyone could confirm...

FetchError: invalid json response body at http://lemmy:8536/api/v3/post/list?community_name=conlang%40lemmy.ml&page=1&limit=20&sort=Active&type_=All

Update: works when i click on that link! Just not when i try to visit it directly. Weird. Anyway, ignore this unless you want to parse that error.

Hi, what do you mean by visiting directly?

If you were the first person to subscribe then yes it wouldn't show up if you went directly to it until it had federated with us :)

I entered the url manually, like: https://lemmy.zip/c/[email protected]

For future reference, what's an easy way to federate with a new community without making a post !linking to it?

There's a couple of ways of doing it, I've personally found the easiest way (for me) is to paste the origin url into this sites search bar and it will eventually come up with the community that you can click on and subscribe to.

Or in the search bar you can do [email protected] and it should appear. Usually it takes a few seconds, returns "no results" and a couple of seconds later a link will appear to the community.

Seems to be working ok. I don't have the "user doesn't exist" issue I had with Voyager last time.

Work perfect for me, the loading time has significantly improved

Glad to hear it! :)
