This guy was awesome 20 years ago in igby goes down and totally f****** rocked Scott Pilgrim.

It's nice he is getting awards for him, but he's been great a long time.

His character in succession is … a ride

Apparently he connected with the character because there were similarities between himself and the character he portrayed, it was almost like method acting for him because they were both so similar

Scott Pilgrim was the first thing I saw him in and I loved his character in that. I'm really glad that he ended up getting the recognition he deserves.

You missed his greatest performance as Fuller, a child who wets the bed if he drinks too much Pepsi.

Okay, fair point. I guess that's technically the first time I saw him. Lol

Igby Goes Down was a goddamn amazing movie.

Kieran is to the Culkin family as Elizabeth is to the Olsen family. They WAY more talented younger sibling is doing great things. It's like reverse nepotism.

I know this article is about Kieran, who's great, but this quote struck me:

Today, with a band — The Pizza Underground — a podcast and two young children, Macaulay Culkin describes himself as “basically a 30-something-year-old retiree.”

He's 43. And the article came out this year!

[–] [email protected] 18 points 9 months ago (1 children)

43 surely qualifies as 30-something

[–] [email protected] 3 points 9 months ago

30-13 year old

[–] [email protected] 4 points 9 months ago

Maybe he means that he retired in his thirties?

You're only as old as you feel

id argue kieran owns that shadow, not macaulay. ive seen more with him than any of the siblings

The main difference is that Mac's main movies are starring Mac, two of which Kieran was in as a minor character, but Kieran is almost always a supporting character or a co-star in the stuff that he's in.

Also I'd outside of Scott Pilgrim snd Succession Kieran's works aren't as successful as Mac's, Home Alone is still a Christmas mainstay, especially the first two, My Girl is still a hugely successful movie, and the Good Son was probably one of the best child horror performances ever, then you have Uncle Buck and Richie Rich, Saved! And Party Monster are both cult comedies as well, Party Monster was required watching to be a raver back in the day along with Go and Groove.

Overall Mac has a cultural impact far beyond what Kieran has been able to do so far, so Kieran is definitely overshadowed by his brother, but I doubt for much longer, his momentum seems to be building and I'm looking forward to what I see him in next.

A nepo-sibling, I'm sure he's talented, as are 10,000 others without famous family.

Between Kieran, Macaulay, and Rory it's crazy how much talent there is in that family. It's good to see him getting the recognition he deserves here.

All three of them give off crazy talker vibes, but I love all three of them as performers.
