Lol. Neural networks are useful for signal processing, that's so bold an innovative that nobody thought of it until 1943 when the first neural network was designed. That's not to downplay the efforts of the people who made this happen but this article is acting like these massively useful ML applications like signal processing wouldn't be possible without the generative AI for consumers and businesses that is responsible for these absurd power requirements and huge data centers, and that's just patently false.

Nobody mentioning it got the captcha wrong? That's a p not a P which while admittedly a tiny mistake would still be counted as a fail

Your OS being the cause of massive problems running common programs should not be something you have to have the skills to fix in the first place. And distro issue? How the hell are you even supposed to pick a distro when if you ask 10 linux users what distro you should use you'll get 11 different answers? Sure, you could just try them all, but it takes a long time to evaluate an OS, plus just making sure that all the programs you want to run don't just shit themselves.

Alright so your argument about free will only really adds up if you are an absolutist about free will. Imagine a perfect utopian paradise of a world. All are free to do whatever they want so long as it is not "evil." Your definition of evil can vary but presumably an omniscient god would have a pretty good idea of what that means. Rhe mwans of prevention xouls be literally anything, because y'know omnipotent and omniscient, including just creating people that simply do not have the capacity for evil. Would the people in that world not have free will? Just because there are some things they cannot do does not mean that in my eye. I can't fly or bite my own finger off or perceive and manipulate the fabric of the universe, does that mean I don't have free will? IMO the only way your position here is logically consistant is if you do take the absolutist position that in order to have free will you must be omnipotent yourself, otherwise there will always be things you cannot do.

My experience as someone who bounced off a couple souls games, playwd Sekiro, and then played Elden Ring: Sekiro is not harder, and IMO most people who say it is come from a place of having gotten used to more traditional soulsborne combat. If you're struggling in Sekiro my main tips are to go somewhere else for a while, or just that you can straight up ignore most enemies in the game without consequences.

I'm not the OP of that comment nor did I express any opinion on the matter but fuck it let's do this. Your position is, if I understand it correctly, that people who think that a politician, a group of people famous for making empty promises and gestures especially when running for office, might be making empty promises and should not be lauded for what may just be paying lip service to a hot-button issue, are "parroting nonsense" and "basically an AI" to you. I understand that there are constant proven efforts to attempt to convince democratic voters not to vote, but I think that freaking out over any critique of the democratic candidate is frankly unhealthy for both this platform and for democracy at large. I know the stakes for this election, I was going to vote for Biden and I am going to vote for Harris, but just because we live under a fucked up two-party system and we have to fall in line when it comes to voting doesn't mean we have to fall in line for the dogma as well.

Well, mainly it's about funnelling taxpayer money into the hands of the prison industrial complex cause most states don't go quite so hard on the prison labor
