Letting them out suggests they will be free as well but they are not. They are bound to their unit, and it is not allowed for a lot of crimes. Violent crimes, sex crimes, DUI, and crimes against state security are all excluded. The Ukranian law also for it people that have a criminal record from serving and this also changed that. So it is not a "free pass" but they no longer have to ait in a jailcel eating up state resources.

No they did not, they allowed convicts to join the military under very strict rules. And why not? As far as I can gather from the article the issue is certain members of the unit. And even if the American is found to be an issue, they can discuss with the US what they want. Convict or expell

Ice cream sodas (lemmy.world)

One of the oldest icecream parlors in my city serves 1 scoop of chocolate icecream, some whipped cream in a glass topped off with coca cola.

It's surprisingly good.

Their other soda is lemon/lime icecream with whipped cream, some ginger and topped with gingerale.

Excellent too especially on a warm day.

Thought I'd share as they can be easily made at home too.

I find the amount of time all media is spending on "Biden bad candidate" is pretty appalling. I also find the Dems lack of a good story on their achievements the past 3 years appalling as well.

Yeah you'd think. But in the boonies of Russia people use horse and cart next to modern vehicles. The permiation of what is going on is probably not as good as you would think.

Ofcourse this is offset by caskets being brought back home, but desperation and poverty are pretty big motivators. If you would make it out alive after a year of serving at that salary you would be set for life. So it's like playing the lottery, with your life. Real life Squid Game. It's terrible.

But they are the disenfranchised and the poor. They have the right to vote for someone who will gut regulations for corporations that will happily increase to looting and pillaging in the quest for profit.

The fact these people reason that it would be better for them with less regulations and oversight is beyond comprehension.
