A few days ago I saw a thing from Thor (Pirate Software) about how this initiative is pretty half baked. Has that chagned or other people with a horse in the race voiced their opinions? Ive only seen the two. (The initiatives sumbitters video and Thors)
Dumb american here, trying to wrap my head around this because it sounds good on paper, and if it suceedes it may be good to do on this side of the pond, but im still trying to form an imformed opinion.

Lever on the side usually, internals for residential and commercial comodes are very different. Most arn't super water efficent, but maintenance can be done by just about anyone. (American here, Euro style toilets are just better)

Its healthier not to have them. Also there is a technical limitation in that points are logged by the instance you post on, your profile could keep a rough tally, but thats yet another cross instance data stream that would need to be synced. Seeing how most lemmy instances are pretty small or managed by hobbiests, thats fine, less for them to worry about.
Also if you post because you have something to say over wanting internet points, people will read your words differently.
