I've been following these things on and off and they've really stagnated for years. Really seems to me like Anbernic keeps making 20 new devices with different form factors and random combinations of numbers and letters for names, but none of them can emulate anything more powerful than frameskipped PSP.

You can use Heroic Games Launcher to play EGS games without installing their app. It can even be used to play them on Steam Deck.

The original NFS is such a great game with a killer soundtrack, though.

Honestly, I wouldn't get anything from Anbernic other than the budget stuff anymore. I have a 351P which is a nice device for playing anything older than the PS2 generation, but the Steam Deck is just too cost efficient (and ships from Europe) to even consider any of the more expensive Anbernics.

Their vegan options suck just from looking at their menu. Dunno how good they used to be, because the last time I ate at Subway was so long ago that I wasn't even yet, lmao.

Assetto Corsa has a ton of great mods, my favorite is probably Shutoko Revival Project. There were some pretty incredible ones for the original rFactor too like CART Factor.

I prefer mods that add extra content rather than just being "let's make the game playable because the original devs didn't bother".

I'm going to recommend some lesser known games.

• Lunistice, a 3D platformer with a 90s polygon graphics aesthetic.
• Star of Providence, a roguelike twin stick shmup. Used to be known as Monolith until they changed it for copyright reasons, but the cool thing is that there used to be DLC, but it's now included with the game.
• Ex-Zodiac: what if Nintendo actually made a good new Star Fox game? I think this one is a little too difficult, but it's still worth playing.
