Your point about Brazil/Bolsonaro is just nonsense. Maybe you're not at all familiar with Brazilian politics so thats fine but while we may debate adventurism, the idea that Bolsonaro when only because of that attempt is absolutely crazy in and of itself.

Bolsonaro won after the Dilma coup in 2016, 4 years of a massive campaign to demonize Lula over the Petrobras corruption scandal. A massive campaign to portray himself as a savior from the corrupt left etc.

But you know what is even funnier? Armed Attack on ex Brazilian President Lula’s Caravan in Paraná

Please don't mistake the shitty conditions of garbage American politics and extrapolate. Lula was in jail and then was almost killed. If Bolsonaro had actualy died? Pretty sure he would not have had a successor and nobody would give a shit. Its unlikely Lula would have won because Haddad is a fucking idiot anyway.

The problem with the left is we take punches, we get sent to jail, and the only conclusion we ever take is "maybe we shouldn't even bother" lol.

This Trump incident got nothing to do with Bolsonaro. Brazil is not a two party "democracy". A country that had an actual military dictatorship literaly less than 50 years ago doesn't need excuses to persecute and kill leftists if they want to.

Political strategy made by babies for other babies. They simply think its best to not leave any room for the dems to blame the "left". Its a win-win. if Biden remains they'll earn some cheap pol capital by keeping their record as good faithful little babies and if he drops out they wont be blamed for it.

This is of course best case scenario and giving them the benefit of doubt. It may just be they're all mostly coward fucks dropping the mask, in Bernie's case I doubt he needs much incentive or strategizing to side with his "friend" Joe.

The interesting thing is that the Chinese strategy for growing further is way different: being an industrial economy, it depends on the other nation being able to acquire their industrial production. In other words, it depends on that nation developing a functioning industry and economy to absorb Chinese products into it, which not only strengthens China, but further weakens the misery-dependent american capital.

This is a good comment overall but I don't know how else to put it but this particular quote goes very much against all the evidence of what the modern Chinese economy actualy looks like.

What you actualy ended up doing was a by proxy regurgitation of the same "overcapacity" argument used by the usual western capitalist propagandists detractors. I'll quote from Michael Robert's excellent take on this issue(China’s unfair ‘overcapacity’) but to summarize, the Chinese economy no longer relies on exports as it used to. The internal consumption is growing steadily and the conditions of the early 2000s are no longer true today.

The rationality of this nonsense is to be found in the Western mainstream view that China is stuck in an old model of investment-led export manufacturing and needs to ‘rebalance’ towards a consumer-led domestic economy where the private sector has a free rein. China’s weak consumer sector is forcing it to try and export manufacturing ‘over capacity’.

But the evidence for this is not there. According to a recent study by Richard Baldwin, he finds that the export-led model did operate up to 2006, but since then domestic sales have boomed, so that the exports to GDP ratio has actually fallen. “Chinese consumption of Chinese manufactured goods has grown faster than Chinese production for almost two decades. Far from being unable to absorb the production, Chinese domestic consumption of made-in-China goods has grown MUCH faster than the output of China’s manufacturing sector.

I don't think there is much evidence to say China needs some foreign economy to consume their excess production, at best this condition existed some 20 years ago and by the early 2010's was already not relevant. Per the chart above you can see the % of industry tied to exporting peaked in 2006.

China doesn't "depend" on US or any other economy to consume their stuff, though obviously there are strong ties today, the point is China can grow based on their own terms, there is no such dependency that limits Chinese growth.

When you thought the fascist would own up to your silly business deals lol.

Just have to hope the CPC will reply in kind. Not holding my breath though.

You know the thing about conspiracies is that they often underestimate just how bad the real world actualy is.

So forget 9/11, current year American aviation is going through a severe crisis, Blancolirio posted about this recently covering the recent close calls.

So its not like its impossible to have multiple failures and a massive coverup, its just that these failures would have been happening for months before and probably after 9/11.

In the current situation though, its literally a miracle there was no major incident so far, ignoring the Boeing stuff obviously.

Absolute bottom of the barrel most desperate attempt to make Biden's NATO saga relevant lol. You could stop evil Putler's assassins but not the 5 random Ukrainians on a fishing boat from blowing up Nord stream.

[-] [email protected] 20 points 3 days ago

Why would you assume he will win in the first place?

This only makes sense if the people behind the Kamala "project" you describe are also the people thinking Biden will win which is clearly not the case right now?

Pretty sure the Secretary of State is just a random guy though.

I'm going to guess the views on this tweet is probably more than what he got on his entire channel last month if not 6 months even and he still managed to fuck himself out of an easy $2k through shitposting memes from 2012. Amazing.

Yeah when we look at the narrative around Putin. Its unironic great man theory as if he is behind all the reactionary and conservative aspects. The worst part being the liberal fetish for color revolutions. The idea there is some liberal hero being oppressed and would be ready to replace him if only we support them. They tried that shit with Navalny even though nobody anywhere even knows him and not realizing he was just as racist and a nazi shit as everyone else.

Putin would be coup by the kind of people that think the war is embarrassing and would be ready to do a full mobilization(an additional 1 million or so) and actualy start bombing and destroying Ukraine indiscriminately.

This whole idea of a slow paced war of a attrition is not without its shaky moments(the Moskva,Kherson retreat, the Moscow attack etc). Nobody pretends the war is without cost, but Russia is managing this cost because they're being very conscious and smart about e.g building the military industry, making sure to transfer more wealth to workers even if just government subsidies etc.

Of course none of this is to say Putin deserves any praise but he was willing to admit to his previous mistake of being naive and willing to bring Russia closer to the west. His replacement in a coup would be someone even more resentful not less, someone even more agressive towards Ukraine not less.

The mythical "western values" loving Russian? That was quite literaly Putin 25 years ago lol.

[-] [email protected] 22 points 6 days ago

Yeah I was going to reply this, indeed this shit only works when you're not literaly the lowest approval in history Yes the mass ~~hate~~ candidate sure.

His respnse is now "but the polls are wrong" lol they're both unironically 99% vs 100% Trump.

Support them when they do good things, criticize when they do bad things. It goes for any country. Feels like its 2022 again and people are relearning what "critical support" means.

Being a Unity tutorial maker in 2023 sounds like pain right now lol.

I do have to say the joker part is a bit silly, I've used Unity before as a hobbyist and Unity Engine is fine IMO, more than fine even compared to the alternatives. Every engine has problems, pick the right tool for the job.

Unity Technologies, the piece of shit company is the problem.

Jesus fucking lol and it is so funny considering she literally talks about Marx and the industrial revolution and dismisses it, like please which is it?

How can you be so fundamentally wrong holy shit, I was skeptical when the other thread compared her with Peterson or whatever but boy oh boy this is the worst way possible to double down.

Just how hard is it to just own it, say some obviously fake PR shit like "oh we learned a lesson from the feedback of our community and we will do better in the future" or "we understand we should have approached the topic with a little more rigor" or something.

I fully admit I was willing to let her take this L as a fluke, something something her "team"(maybe even herself) suggested a bad topic and the minions can't afford to tell her that was a bad idea or something, but no.

I can't wait for the triple down I guess. Even the replies are still roasting her lol.

This is a perfect example of a staged tour, you wont see but behind the camera there is a CCP death squad pointing their guns towards the children, you'll often see them laughing but they're realy just child actors specialy trained by CCP from the age of 3 so they can participate in propaganda videos.

Before you even think about "oh but they were just poor volunteers" or some shit lib excuse, even the segment which is clearly trying to play both sides here the historian interviewed here says

Before 1945, Taiwanese are Japanese when our country was facing war and disaster we as citizens had to contribute our efforts to figth the foreigners. The US and UK fought for their ideology, Taiwan and Japan also fought for our national ideology.

Yeah just which ideology was that mr random dipshit historian? Well at least you admit it lol.

Also #2 don't even begin with "clean Warmach" bullshit nazi shit "oh but they were just technicians so innocent". At the very least you should agree you don't build monuments to nazi collaborators yeah?

Yeah basicaly, this is the absolute perfect time to build a pro-Japanese fascist WW2 memorial huh?

Literally spy balloon 2.0. This time a community center for helping immigrants with government paperwork is actually a secret spy agency.

He clarified that it was a police overseas service station, which was different from an actual police station. According to him, no police officers from China had visited their office and the association was focused on helping Chinese citizens renew and complete forms.

Jimmy Lu explained that during the pandemic, many Chinese immigrants were unable to travel back to China due to restrictions. To aid them, the association collaborated with the local police station in Fuzhou to remotely assist immigrants in renewing their Chinese driver’s licenses, as well as other necessary documents.

Jimmy Lu said that the association offered its office as a venue for Chinese immigrants to have virtual meetings with police officers in China. The staff at the association also assisted in measuring the applicants’ vision and weight to ensure their driver’s license information was up-to-date. The association informed Chinese-language media in NYC when establishing the police service station in 2022. In a picture the association shared with the press, Harry Lu, Jinping Chen and other leaders of the organization sat in front of a desk with a banner hanging on the wall that said, “Fuzhou Police Overseas Service Station.”

To coincide with the time zone in China, the office operated at 9:30 p.m. every Thursday from February to September 2022, helping more than 120 Chinese immigrants renew their driver’s licenses, Jimmy Lu said. Federal prosecutors say the police station was closed in the fall of 2022 after those operating it became aware of the FBI’s investigation.

I also absolutely love that part, the super duper secret police station is so secret that they checks notes gave the media a photo of them in front of a sign that says "Fuzhou Police Overseas Service Station".

For the next time some dipshit lib tries to argue with you about owning a fucking microwave. Jason Hickel is a beast.

The common notion that extreme poverty is the “natural” condition of humanity and only declined with the rise of capitalism rests on income data that do not adequately capture access to essential goods.

Data on real wages suggests that, historically, extreme poverty was uncommon and arose primarily during periods of severe social and economic dislocation, particularly under colonialism.

The rise of capitalism from the long 16th century onward is associated with a decline in wages to below subsistence, a deterioration in human stature, and an upturn in premature mortality.

In parts of South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa and Latin America, wages and/or height have still not recovered.

Where progress has occurred, significant improvements in human welfare began only around the 20th century. These gains coincide with the rise of anti-colonial and socialist political movements.

Abstract

The evidence we review here points to three conclusions.

(1) It is unlikely that 90% of the human population lived in extreme poverty prior to the 19th century. Historically, unskilled urban labourers in all regions tended to have wages high enough to support a family of four above the poverty line by working 250 days or 12 months a year, except during periods of severe social dislocation, such as famines, wars, and institutionalized dispossession – particularly under colonialism.

(2) The rise of capitalism caused a dramatic deterioration of human welfare. In all regions studied here, incorporation into the capitalist world-system was associated with a decline in wages to below subsistence, a deterioration in human stature, and an upturn in premature mortality. In parts of South Asia, sub-Saharan Africa, and Latin America, key welfare metrics have still not recovered.

(3) Where progress has occurred, significant improvements in human welfare began several centuries after the rise of capitalism. In the core regions of Northwest Europe, progress began in the 1880s, while in the periphery and semi-periphery it began in the mid-20th century, a period characterized by the rise of anti-colonial and socialist political movements that redistributed incomes and established public provisioning systems.

Overall this is an amazing paper, I recommend reading in full to debunk so much common shit about colonial capitalism.

Also there is an excess death chart for Africa, overall 1880-1920 saw a total 20% population decline.

Also

Indian life expectancy did not reach the level of early modern England (35.8 years) until 1950, after decolonization.

Otherwise gee fucking idiots I guess you realy needed a whole research department to figure things out like

•Alt-Right supergroup activity remains near its all-time high. This activity has been high since the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago in August (Fig. 1).

•The forums with the greatest use of Violent/Aggressive discourse in November were in Health Misinformation, scoring higher than Incels/Femcels and the Extreme Right (Fig. 7).

•Reference to sex crimes was up 13% in December and was up 32% since August (Fig. 11).

:the-democrat: reading this : "Great, its all according to the plan. Carry on mrMcdoofus, keep us informed, this is very useful information, it will come in handy when we decide to do absolutely nothing for the next 2 years."
