Oh I know. It is your call. I've not seen much evidence of tutanova/proton Lemmy adverts. This service is quite new in comparison and there is clearly some astroturfing on lemmy. We don't know how good or bad they are tbh. The fact they are pushing it rather than relying on word of mouth is a little sketchy.

Whether it is deleted or not, I'll at least call out advertising so people are aware rather than being led to believe it is recommended.

We don't know what it is, but there is history on Lemmy of them listing out every feature, asking I'd anyone used it as they didn't. Why woupd anyone do that? More blatant in the past, but worth being on guard against them.

Plus advertising e2e encrypted emaill which is impossible unless recipient is same service.

Probably an ad, but much more subtle if so. The old ones were so blatant. :)

What makes you do it with a smile? What does it give you that proton or tutanota doesn't?

If you're not keen on web DRM, might be worth considering Firefox. The less chromium users, the easier it is to stop companies implementing this.

Nothing has exactly the same experience as MS. I don't think there is a clone project for it.

The two you listed are your best options.

Does LibreOffice have any issues that prevent you using it? If not, it's probably that your expectations are set by your comfort and familiarity with Office and that is the problem you need to solve.

I'm in awe. I respect your commitment to free and open information :). Much respect.

Firstly, I have more than one account for different purposes. These were created when performance problems were rampant, and my view was always to return, and then the Hexbear defederation happened before even federation occurred based on speculation. It was much quicker than Exploding Heads defederation was. Based on that decision and the way it was worded in the announcement, which failed to be impartial, detached, or hiding in personal intent, I was hesitant to return fully. See the lemm.ee announcement taken for contrast which was done by someone with more than enough reason to defederate, but they approached it in a balanced and mature manner. In line with that, this can become quite sinister:

"Always post compliant content that upholds the rules of the individual community and the website, and is of personal interest to you."

"uphold the rules of the website" and ensure posts are "compliant". It very much comes across as though world is a political site, and has taken a clear editorial line. Anyone from the left isn't welcome... and steps will be taken if it makes anyone feel any cognitive dissonance. lemmy.ml, lemm.ee and shit.just.works are far superior general purpose instances.

Interestingly enough, you have the following:

"Vote for the content, not for the person."

and yet you decided to search me, and go for the ad hominem. Playing the person and not the point. I'm getting the anyone that disagrees is a problem vibe here.

Legend. That is impressive. 50 per day?

Is this like a daily hobby?

Like the time when a kid in school tried to create their own nickname and everyone noped the fuck out and carried on calling them the same thing they were.

You don't get to pick your nickname, even if you started trying 20 years ago, FF.

Agreed. What you say matters here. Your post won't be buried with only you for an upvote.
