My laptop's HDD is failing, it shows a bunch of signs such as slow file manipulation and clicking sounds. The Linux btrfs partition keeps going into read-only mode to prevent further damage, makes sense, but the windows partition is working fine (for now).

Shouldn't harddrive failure be evident on all partitions?

I don't have this problem when reading novels or comics on the same devices, what gives?

I don't know exactly which is why I'm confused, most people there say you must use a dedicated editor instead of plain text or google docs. Isn't it all just text?

It seems every good option is paid, and all others are either discontinued (trelby, fountain) or filled with commercial and AI tools (Story Architect)

This is weird and discouraging, coming from the novel world where you could use a plain markdown editor and export it to epub/pdf/whatever you need. Anyone know of something better for screenwriting?

Will look into it, wish there was a Linux equivalent though!

Basically I want a way to plan out my routine and stuff to accomplish on days of the week, like do X on Friday. I tried Planner but it seems to not have something like my latter example.

There is someone on a server I like that likes to put sexist or homophobic religious lines, this isn't really a big deal as I don't have to interact or even look at that area. Would still be really nice though

and others are far less likely to attack religion as a bullshit excuse for anything

But why is that?

Is there any hope of this getting better? I rely on the internet for most of my knowledge so it sounds like I'm doomed.

I like to use Pinterest to save and make boards of artworks for inspiration. The thing is, the desktop experience is weird at best, clunky and slow at worst. Any suggestions?

Excellent example!

I'm looking for suggestions to play on my upcoming PC upgrade, since I feel the only "impressive new games" are medieval with no fantasy or military/modern shooters—nothing wrong with those, this just makes me feel like there aren't many games of my taste after all.

No hate against 2D games, they're my favorites in fact! I pretty much played them all though, and I'm in the mood for something 3D lol.

On-topic Games I Have Played and Enjoyed

Thanks for reading!

Good point, but can't most of them replace "porn" with, pic, or, art, work or pictures?

  • c/EarthPics
  • c/UnixArt
  • c/RetroArt

I suspect will only make it worse.

But you don't know that. History can't be (accurately) predicted.

So fuck it. Live, laugh, and love now.

Isn't that an internet meme? Perhaps it's better to say "enjoy your life now" or something like that.

a default sort that favors smaller communities

Someone should make an issue on that in the github!

I've gotten pretty far using FOSS tools when it comes to making games, but I would like something like Substance Painter so I can fully dabble into 3D.

Nothing AAA quality or very professional, I just want something that works good enough for my indie games lol.
