Had a friend who spent lots of money and years of her life to become a lawyer, only to realize how fucked up our justice system is and leave to become a social worker for an organization that helps people with mental health issues
Seriously, I have a roommate who is ostensibly a nice guy, never says anything sexist/racist or whatever, and our living situation involves a Black/indigenous woman. But I hear him listening to TikToks all the time that are just the most vile misogynist or weirdly tradtional viewpoints ("women, if you make dinner but your husband don't like it, what do you do as a good wife?" etc). I feel like he's probably not even choosing these toks, they're just unavoidable.
Whoooops! I blame autocorrect....
It was Pennsylvania, back when Philly was the capital. I heard about this on the Dollop podcast episode on Ona Judge, who escaped Washington during one of these trips to reset the freedom clock. The episode was based on this book:

Yeah so weird he said "an Intercept guy who reports from Gaza" instead of "Ryan Grim from Drop Dead News (formerly of The Intercept)" considering the whole point of them appearing on the pod was to announce the new site
I'd never seen that before so thank you. My day has improved. "Gee, let's go to war" lmao
I can't even begin to recount all the fucked up shit I went through a few years ago just trying to advocate for the right of Black people to not be murdered by police. DURING the Biden administration, to be clear.
In fact, if you go to a Chicago White Sox baseball game and you ask for ketchup on. your dog, they ring a Bell of Shame
Obama murdered a 16-year-old who wasn't even accused of a crime and got away with it, but I guess the rules are different when the victim is Muslim
If I were Biden, I'd nuke Mar A Lago
If you have as many roommates as I have you shower at the weirdest possible time to make sure no one else will be in the bathroom when you need it
