A note about battery life, Bobovr makes a great strap that has modular batteries. I don't think they've made a full kit for the q3 that has multiple batteries and a separate charging dock for the batteries like they did for the q2, though... Happy to be corrected on this! Either way, they greatly extend playing time.

The strap itself is really comfortable and the battery helps counterbalance the weight of the quest itself. I know one of the q3 versions has a fan built in and the design lets you lie on your back and just watch movies.

Edit: seems they sell the s3 batteries separately and the charging dock now, nice. Wish it came in a whole kit.

There's a small country town in Victoria where a fairly geriatric man wears one, and sits in front of one of the higher traffic areas on the main street. I gather he's hoping someone will either fall for the bait and be that person yelling at an old man, or will assume the lack of interaction means people agree with him.

Some of the ranches are big enough they do have helicopters. It's not impossible.

If we aren't, we'll wish we were...

What a cracker of a question!

Short answer, yes.

Long answer, what sorts of side effects happen as a result of said medication? I don't think there's a single medication or even supplement out there that doesn't have some sort of side effect (e.g., ibuprofen can cause gut bleeding, iron supplements can lead to constipation, grapefruit can screw with all sorts of medications), so balancing the cost benefit ratio is important.

The problem comes is the suggestion of travelling to destination X (in your case, the Bahamas) doesn't just pop up out of thin air - friends may have travelled there recently, perhaps there has been a recent advertising push, etc.

Another family member looking up some destinations to travel, then speaking with you later - same external IP of the home wifi being reported, bam you get advertised the destinations they looked at the most.

Choosing a "random" topic again also doesn't come out of thin air.

Last I heard 2035 was already going to be pretty crap, 2050 was unlivable.

As other comments have said, deal with the origin of the pain first, THEN...

If it's bad enough to take meds but not too bad, then one 500mg paracetamol and 200mg ibuprofen (my go to for pain). The paracetamol will generally be one with some caffeine in it.

If it's a BAD headache, then 900mg aspirin.

I do have a headache hat which is kept in the fridge.

That is literally how you are supposed to play Dixit.

A lot of companies have tried to dodge their liability responsibilities by claiming it was an unrelated third party that is responsible.

The consumer still has a contractual relationship with the vendor, not the upstream provider.

The vendor is the one who should ensure their supply chain is safe, and can't demand a stupidly low price that gives no room for safe practices.

Megan MacKenzie, the more junior author (at the time a senior lecturer), received calls threatening her with consequences for her career.

Why only mention the more junior author? Did the senior authors not get targeted? Did they receive different threats? There's definitely an implication here and I'd rather not assume... :/

And how "funny" - when "outed" (and were they?) for being biased, the reaction was to be an absolute turd? Ugh.

Very niche case use, and the only other related post I can find used a different pair of glasses.

Mine unfortunately can't just be plugged straight into the Nitro Deck+, but needs to have the included USB c to HDMI, then a powered HDMI to USB C adapter. It works fine (with audio) at that point.

The powered HDMI to USB C adapter I used was this one: https://amzn.asia/d/90FQYfo

I'm ordering a USB C splitter cable and hopefully that will reduce the number of cables needed.

Hope this helps anyone else who happened to have this specific issue. 😅

I figure I might as well post some stuff to the Fediverse.

I have a Meross MSG100 to add "smart" connectivity to my otherwise dumb powered garage door. To my pleasant surprise, Meross can be hooked up to Samsung SmartThings, and you can set a routine for when you arrive within a certain radius of home (100m is the smallest), it can then open the garage door. It can even be set to note if you've been gone long enough (I have mine set to 10 minutes).

For more precise location detection, you have to do a little finangling to get it to be hooked up to the Modes and Routines app where you can then also set a location setting that includes connecting to your home wifi.

The finangling involves setting up a virtual switch in SmartThings (as garage door openers aren't "supported" by M&R, but a switch is), and having a routine in ST linking the switch's state to the garage door.

If you don't have ST Labs (only available in USA and KR), then you can make a virtual switch using Samsung's own web ui: https://my.smartthings.com/advanced/devices

Anyway, we tested it this afternoon and it worked fine.

For those without a Samsung phone, this will be a lot harder to set up (if not impossible).

My backup options were:

  1. Getting my Cardo set up (whenever it arrives) and yelling Hey Google open the garage door, waiting for it to go 'sure, what's your pin', and yelling that at it... from like two roundabouts away from home.
  2. Buying and installing a Riders Magic Touch
  3. Buying and installing a Mo-Door
  4. Buying and installing the Garage Door Opener from Vizi-Tec (hooks up to brake line), apparently you do a zip-zip-zip-braaake on your brake and it activates it?
  5. Taking apart a garage remote and making my own version of any of the above, including like the FlashToPass/FlashToOpen (they don't exist anymore sadly) which activated when you flashed your high beams
  6. Tucking a remote into my tank bag and smashing the shit out of it
  7. Do what I've been doing which was stopping, glove off, open jacket pocket, fish out remote and press button, shove it back into pocket, glove back on, roll into garage

Anyone got any other unique ways of managing their garage door whilst on the motorcycle?

The context:

The British activist, who also goes by pseudonym Posie Parker, spoke at a "Let Women Speak" event outside Victorian parliament in March that was gatecrashed by neo-Nazis, who joined the anti-trans rights demonstrators and repeatedly performed the Nazi salute.

MP Moira Deeming's involvement in the "Let Women Speak" rally led to her suspension and eventual expulsion from the Liberal party.
