That's kind of fucked up, asking kids to tell their political allegiance... In debates we were assigned an opinion and had to defend it no matter what our personal opinion was to make us understand how to build arguments...

Trump has pretended that his arrest and mugshot increased his support from black electors (implying that it made them relate to him from sharing an experience far too common for them) so it wouldn't be surprising he would do the same because he got shot (again, considering statistics)

"voted"

Unless she happened to intentionally take part in polls whenever there was one (and I would be surprised she did), there's no way she did as there's never been a referendum on the question in the UK and even polls on the subject weren't common until the 90s.

As long as it uses the same temporary discussions system, any social media will be used the same way.

The only reason I hang around here is because there's no forum equivalent, and that's too bad because forums end up with much better and more intelligent conversations with vast amounts of knowledge all in the same place instead of just reposts after reposts after reposts.

Unless mods wanted to spend 24/7 making sure people didn't use FOSS Reddit the same way Reddit was used, that was always going to happen, if it hadn't then people would have went back to Reddit to doom scroll again.

That's the thing though, they're still overcharging you and 70$+ isn't affordable prices for a game, you've just been brainwashed into thinking that your money is worth less than it is because a big chunk of it goes to enrich a few people.

Valve gets 30% for distributing it, the publisher takes another 10 to 20%, add other fees and 50% of what you're spending goes to the people doing the actual work, that means that Valve gets 60% of what the dev gets for doing barely anything.

Cultures evolve through, in part, the influence of other cultures. You clearly have no historical knowledge, you should just stop.

It's the same shit as Reddit, sometimes even the same content.

Copying a previous comment of mine:

I like a variation of the German system (not sure if it's used everywhere in Germany though).

Keep the map and election as is, add seats to the chamber, once the results are in add MPs until the chamber is proportional, they're selected by adding the party's leader first then the candidates from their party that had the highest % of vote in their district then the next one and so on.

That means districts where first and second place were close would get two MPs which might swing the next election in the second place's favour if they do a good job representing their district. It also means the party only gets to choose one of the MPs that are added this way (the leader), the other ones are chosen by the electors.

Someone added that the party leaders could even be added to the list of MPs separately, the moment there's one MP elected for a party the leader is present in the chamber, otherwise the second a party has enough votes to have a seat it first goes to the leader. They would be there for the country, not a specific district.

If nobody took the roman empire down, pedophilia would still be a thing.

If nobody killed the medieval lords that enjoyed the "right of the first night", having sex on the first night of a bride's wedding, as a means to show dominance and control over the peasants, that shit would still exist today.

You know, an argument is much stronger if you don't resort to bullshit like that that is impossible to prove.

It's disgusting to see people defending the people that are exploiting them and preventing them from being more than average.

"I haven't seen any evidence"

Buddy, where do you think billionaires' money comes from?

[-] [email protected] -1 points 1 day ago

You think people have it against Gabe only? All multimillionaires billionaires exist at your expense buddy, none of them deserve to exist and their companies don't deserve the profit that made them billionaires.
