Some of us have real lives to get on with and are willing to do the work behind the scenes, while we get on with that. My community has buried three since the since the end of October, two have recently been diagnosed with cancer and another two are in stage four. There are also considerations of paying bills. Just because we're not wallowing in self-pity doesn't make anyone anything other than busy. Mutual aid, direct action. Voting for the major parties isn't the answer.

That's karma, handing us the same lessons until we graduate to new ones.

Lee Atwater full interview told the real reason for the dumbing down of America. Two younger family members went through four years of prestigious private universities, and neither had ever read classic literature, let alone discuss main themes and philosophical implications, which is sad, since Shakespeare still addresses basic and timeless western human conditions, and I daresay the reach may be broader than that.

If we're going to have the superheroes, they're going to be us, so I guess it depends how badly we want them.

My child seems to be in a reasonably healthy relationship. It's a wonder since I put them through a few bad ones, but I eventually left. They've been in a stable relationship for five years. I don't pry much and I pray they aren't staying because they feel they'd flounder, otherwise. Their partner is a good person, in not implying they aren't. Compatibility is a thing, common interests are necessary.

I just told a care provider recently that I've no idea if I'm capable of a healthy relationship, because I don't even know what one looks like from the outside, let alone from the inside. I'm nearly 60.

I don't know that turning onward is a bad idea. It can be, if we get terrified and refuse to go deeper. What I mean is, grief work and rage work and all the icky stuff is necessary, as are breaks from the heaviness. Be gentle with yourself, friend.
