Audiobooks are also passive listening which is not cognitively absorbed as thoroughly as active reading. IMO you have not "read" a book if you just listened to someone read it to you. Reading with your own eyes engages more thinking processes, forcing the reader to think more about what they've read.

Yes, they are the best medium for long term backups, as optical discs should be fine for decades. Hard drives and USB sticks are liable to fail within a few years.

A phone is just not as good as a computer for anything except taking pictures, sending messages, and being portable. So if I'm at home where my computers are I only use a computer for anything online, except messaging. Having to do everything on a phone sounds horrible to me.

I'm ready to hear what the Joint Chiefs of the US military have to say about this. They stepped in to lend some clarity a couple of times in 2020 when bullshit was getting too flagrantly unconstitutional, to remind everyone of the military's oath to uphold the Constitution regardless of who is in command (they also officially stated that Biden was commander in chief in Jan. 2021)
