Honestly no table sounds like a company which sells hideaway tables...that's kinda a genius business idea actually someone should do this haha.

Pro tip from one Linux noob to another, chatgpt allowed me to take the leap from not understanding Linux well enough to make it work on my own to making it work and doing a few advanced things.

Chatgpt has pretty decent usefulness even without buying the subscription nowdays if you don't want to do that, so glad I did this!

This is funny to me because san-disk literally means no disk, same as how sans serif means no serifs.

Hmm I don't think I did, I think I am allowed to have a different perspective.

It is easier for marginalized people to point the flaws out and forget about it but I think it makes more sense to try to meet it with understanding and then moving on.

That is what combining multiple perspectives will do :)

I mean, sure its a problem, but it seems to be largely just about the one occurance of the problem.

Otherwise it seems like the bulk of the post and vaxrys response to that post are about how it was handled and idk if I would have handled it better if I was in that sort of situation.

When I went into the community briefly both on github and discord I was met with immense help to my problems with hyprland (which I now don't use just because I realized I didn't need to mess with window management)

If I recall vaxry is young and has some social nuance to learn, this doesn't excuse behaviors but I can choose to accept a solid attempt at handling a wrongdoing.

Anyone know what happened to peertube.wtf?

When I search for it I am greeted with "502 bad gateway open resty"

I was using it and enjoying it a lot for a couple months then it started that and haven't been able to access it since.

If I recall @[email protected] operates it?

That's been my experience too, our society is built around slowly killing us, in fact the united states was the only developed country recently to actually experience a drop in healthy life expectancy

why is it that when i post on some communities i cant see my post on the community but apparently at least some other people can see and respond to it?

example is when i posted on the kgatlw community about the band called doom gong recently.

is it some kind of federation shenanigans like when a server is not federated with one but the other one is?

...now that i think about it, this is probably something thst has been asled before, i should have checked before posting this but ill still post anyways.

another question, if that is the case then is there a easy way to tell which servers are federated with which?

fixed: turns out hide read posts setting was enabled so i didnt see them, i had to change it on through the browser login, changing it in the voyager app for lemmy didnt change it.

They look and sound so similar, listen to these songs! Stumbled upon them at a random event I was at and was super impressed so I found them online and now I am sharing here

Compare these 6 songs below

KGLW - I'm in your mind Doom Gong - the gong rings on

KGLW - altered beast Doom Gong - bridge of doom

KGLW - sense Doom Gong - memory maze

How to use peertube (self.asklemmy)

id like to make the comment section into a list of ways to use peertube. i know there is grayjay, going to the peertube instance website of your choice, and the peertube app which if i recall isnt completed yet but is expected to be done sometime soon but correct me if im wrong, im sure there are other apps people use for peertube but maybe not, i havent actually looked. As well as how does everyone interact with peertube? Is it mostly following specifically people or more like other fediverse platforms where you just make an account somewhere on a instance you deem worthy and check out the whole peertube userbase, I know each instance is like a whole YouTube website, does that mean that you have to search based on instances to find things or can you search like all vs local or whatever?

Anyone else feeling like there's a conflict of interest by how it's the job of the news businesses to report things about the Olympics while also being the ones who supply money to the olympics, like theya rent going to want to report bad stuff about it because then it says they are supporting that stuff.

Idk if I'm just dumb but this is the first time I'm trying to watch the Olympics more closely and it doesn't seem to be so straightforward. I don't have a peacock subscription and it seems like NBC is never showing actually live events even ifnthey say live wo I keep seeing things a day late. I know there are other sources for Canada and UK that I'm not familiar with but then I need to mess with VPN stuff, which is fine but then I'll need to find a good VPN because I don't usually use one. Anyways any help is appreciated!

I might have to start watching the Olympics more, decided to get into it this year since I feel like I have been missing out of previous years

It was rainy last night but some people nearby let out a few and I got 1 really good picture from it!

I dont know if this has been asked before or if this may be a little goofy of a question but I didn't see anything relating to it and I'm kinda curious what the culture of Lemmy is like and what sort of common things people see. ive been paying attention to interactions but nothing is as good as just asking everyone.

how do you create a community on Lemmy? I'm not necessarily interested in making one and actively maintaining it but just curious.
