Historically a ceasefire means to stop killing, and it is considered broken if hostilities resume.

Baking in the resumption of hostilities is essentially negotiating for peace in bad faith. This has been Netenyahu’s strategy from the start, because he knows an end to the war means an end to his reign of power.

Same, Repugs forced to defend in TX is a victory in and of itself.

The implication here is honestly pretty exciting. Since the 80s, the Dems have been gradually chasing the Repugs down to the bottom of the barrel by emulating their strategy of chasing corporate donations in order to win elections by spending more money. Except, the Dems never quite raised as much, and were always at a disadvantage by doing this - in particular because it forced them to embrace policies which went against the needs of their voters.

Dumping Biden and turning towards real populism has already had a massive positive effect. Let’s hope they continue down this path, and that the move is symbolic of moving away from the old guard strategies of appeasing corporate donors. It would be amazing for the Dems to become a party of the people again - the ACTUAL people, despite what the corrupt Supreme Court thinks about corporations.

Relax bidey-bro, this thread is about data privacy laws, not general stuff. The only relevant one I’m aware of is DMCA, which was in fact signed into law by Bill Clinton.

Probably for committing one of the highest crimes of the land - disrespecting a police officer by not following their orders. They don’t care if he was seizing, unconscious, whatever. They will shoot to kill for such an infraction.

One can only pound so many McDonald cheeseburgers in accordance with their identity before it begins to have an effect.

If only he could say something true instead of only lies. Just this once.

I think the person you replied to intentionally chose “Centrists,” not “GOP.” The problem here is corporate capture of Congress. Republicans are the default gatekeepers, but when populist ideas such as this on the left start to take root, that’s when the democrats come out to squash the effort. Think Manchin, Sinema for the usual suspect scapegoats. But if shit gets real, look at how Pelosi laughs off the STOCK act whenever it’s mentioned. Because of course, policy makers should get to partake in unlimited insider trading, right? Because how else would they be incentivized to continue repealing regulations to allow for wider corporate profit margins.
