Nice, thank you so much! I'll give those a watch
This is amazing! I know you said you saw the initial video 10 years ago, but do you think you could share any resources that helped you put this together? I've got my own stash of plastic bags that could be put to use :)
I'm simply not so sure we haven't arrived at the same place anyway. Living in deeply Maga area, we've had fireworks shot off all night last night, as well as people posting up on corners with flags and guns. One person in my area said they were heiled and yelled "white power" at.
It concerns me that people are trying to downplay this situation just because the man didn't die. I think it's the opposite. People are feeling riled up and emboldened in a way I don't think they would if the shooter had succeeded.
After hearing the fireworks going off in my Maga-heavy area last night, I'm really not sure that the gunman missing was the better outcome. Trump has a special following in the republican party that gathers followers from those outside the party that wouldn't ordinarily vote.
It's not upside down, that's just the angle. It's just hanging vertically. Even if it were hanging upside down, though, that wouldn't be unusual for this lot. A lot of Maga fucks fly it that way around here, almost as a way of saying how fucked they see this country. It plays into their victim complex.
It hurts the most when it's your family :/ I'm 30 years old and I still have trouble saying "I want to watch this movie" when it's just me and my husband having a movie night. Literally anything I wanted to watch or do in that house was somehow the weirdest thing anyone had ever heard of. That's growing up in an Arkansas white-flight suburb for you.
What the hell happened in this thread? This is the most reddit shit I've encountered since coming to lemmy a year ago. Not surprised I'm finding it in a lemmy.world community, either 🙄
We have them in Oklahoma, too, now
Between him and OJ earlier this year, I'm feeling downright blessed
Tulsa and OKC as well. The countryside is flat, windy and hot as fuck, so if you like going outside a lot it's probably not for you, but both metros in OK are pretty nice.
As for Arkansas, Little Rock is severely slept on. Not as pretty as Fayetteville and Bentonville, obviously, but I was surprised in visiting recently how much it had grown since I had lived there.
Of course, in all of those places, the fact remains that you're living in goddamned Oklahoma or Arkansas, and that's an experience I simply don't recommend.
