I hadn't thought of a boat barricade like that. It would definitely be effective in the short term. Unfortunately, in the US at least, the coast guard would end it real quick for national security reasons. That would certainly make international news though.

I would say protesting at a port would be less likely to garner international attention, and probably would be easier to shutdown quickly and relatively quietly.

Shutting down an airport is much more public, therefore probably safer in the long run. Also more likely to be reported on because it affects the public in a more direct way. Yes, it inconveniences some people, but it gets the message out.

Either way, I doubt it will do much to change anything soon enough.

I always heard "ice on my fingers, and my toes, and on my toys"

I think that it is more about creating a routine for this particular person than the dog being neglected. Having the dog water on the list normalizes everything else. There was no instruction to clean up dog pee everywhere either.

Very well put, your kids are lucky to have a person like you.

I really appreciate you sharing your art. This one is my favorite, hearing that bonding must have been great.

My first time shutting down a factory at the end of second shift for the weekend. I shut down the compressors first, and that hard stopped a bunch of other equipment that relied on the air pressure. Lessons learned. I spent another hour restarting then properly shutting down everything. Never did that again.

Personally, it's amusing at best. In the same way as the girl in Jurassic Park using "Unix" to hack the system.

That being said, I still give mad props for the development that occurred during that era.

The joke is that a couple of drunk guys enduring an eternal winter came up with something better than silicon valley could.

Yeah, that happens. That's why they make block heaters. The moral of the story is don't be a dick about people not knowing everything about their vehicle. I still argue with some of the smartest people I know about filling their tank before severe weather hits. We're not all on the same level, most people just expect it to work.

Speaking of knowing the pitfalls, how did you manage to run out of coolant my friend? That's day one of owning a beater.

Independence Day

This is a really cool idea, and I'm down to try. How about we start by scheduling a weekly movie night with a poll for what to watch?
