I saw it described as being closely related to their identity in the context of... well, their culture war mentality.
1: The military for all it's power, but without the parts where you conform to a basic GI look or instill certain character. Camo, webbing, guns, but not professionalism, work ethic, discipline, strict hierarchial conformity, or adherence to real military values. (Just the violent power.)
2: Pop culture mercenary idols. A few guys have went off to war, came back, wrote this, podcasted that, and turned into mythical personalities. They look different than normal soldiers. They have beards and wear casual attire mixed with military gear. Joe Rogans with military experience. (They like the idea of being above the law because they're different.)
3: The soldiers who fought to preserve slavery. The good ol' boys. Fightin' for the cause. To keep whites on top. The scraggly beards, the woodsmen aesthetic, rugged men fighting the good fight. (They want their fight to have never ended.)
You end up with a dudes dressed like a soldier, but not groomed as one, with very specific casual attire and tacticool accessories thrown on top.
I wouldn't even care if a game ran at a consistent sub 30 fps. I just refresh the way I feel about what I'm doing. Like when you switch to black and white television, or music written in a different tonal system, or an Adam Sandler movie. Just relax, turn off the analysis, let your ocular systems rewire some stuff, and suddenly you don't even notice anything weird.
But when the fps is all over the place I can't hang anymore.
I assume an Olympic shooter would use a different stance when firing a more powerful gun and still "blow their head off."
This wording is called headlinese. It's the way we've written headlines and news articles for over 100 years. For the United States at least, to slam someone has been shorthand for lambasting someone. For several generations.
The more I think about it the more interesting it is that the skill of reading headlines is somehow disappearing from the population despite people still having to read them constantly.
I think it's a neurodivergent thing. When Steve says "Israeli's are a bunch of Nazis" you're supposed to pass through the words and see what Steve is expressing. Steve didn't couch his statement in a clinical, "these be the facts" tone, it's obvious what Steve meant. He's calling out Israel for abhorrent behavior
The "this means X so if you say that it means Y" things is the way some neurodivergents slice up the world. Like we live in a videogame or something. They will literally tell you what you meant by attaching arbitrary rules to your words.
Anyways, Israeli's are definitely Nazis. (They are not literally Nazis) Their war is soulless, evil. (Evil does not literally exist, soulless is elegant shorthand for morality, how one feels about actions, how deep one feels those patterns are embedded, etc.)
I can't exactly tell the theme by looking but I like the general colors and design.
Piastri is the definition of aloofness. I don't know if the drama really bothered him but his measured victory radio fits his personality. If he started screaming I would've been more caught out than this "could've been smoother" thing.
So... a different design on gloves?
Perhaps god was saying, "Stop being an evil cunt or the next one won't miss." It was a sign!!
Is Australia allowed to say what they want? We recently made them coup themselves over military bases, I can't imagine Australian leaders speaking out against our foreign policy / goals. We'd end their career.
