planted them a lil later, for some reason they grow bigger that way

Had no idea about this. I'll try that next year. When did you plant them? In late April/early May? And what kind of tomatoes?

Didn't know about that. Thanks.

But at what cost?

May you have a bountiful harvest. I've been eating figs for the past few weeks. Tangerines are coming in in November.

To be the devil's advocate here, there's nothing wrong with taking fruits from a tree. In fact, it's a pretty sustainable practice.

Axios article

Hamas on Sunday rejected an updated U.S. proposal for a ceasefire and hostage deal in Gaza

...

More specifically, Hamas objects to the fact that the proposal doesn't include a permanent ceasefire

b asks: "There is no ceasefire deal. How then could Hamas reject a ceasefire deal?"

Just looked into it, HarmonyOS is closed source. No bueno.

This. The US defense industry is its own beast. I think if a president tried to cut 9/10 of the DoD budget they'd get coup'd.

criminal elements ... made him disappear

That's true in any case.

So they fired everything they had until the maize stopped rustling, and silence fell. Then the Ukrainians moved on.

"Should I say the maize stoppes rustling or that silence fell? I'll do both!"

The funny thing is the prose sounds like it was written by a high schooler.

Last I heard he was captured by Russians (by mistake). Then I also heard he was killed by friendly fire or tortured to death.

If that's true that's fucked up. Wasn't he a citizen/resident of the DPR? Didn't they see his youtube videos? Everyone also seems to have forgotten about him.

For obvious reasons.

I just noticed I haven't visited Lemmygrad in a month, cause I was afraid of opening the site. Same reason I ignore important emails, don't respond to friends and sometimes "ghost" people. If someone calls me on the phone, I answer, if someone wants to hang out I go and hang out, but it is so easy to shut out the digital world. Kind of unfortunate everything is moving to the digital realm... or is it by design? Is it a feature of the digital system that those of us with anxiety won't be able to participate fully? People ask me if I have instagram, nope. I don't post about my life on social media, yet that is what is expected to be a participating member of today's society.

Personally, I believe that A CAB. Yes, all cops are bastards, no exceptions. Yet I have met people who think that cops in socialist countries aren't bastards.

My reasoning is that it is a position of power over your fellow citizens/countrymen/people and only bastards would be attracted to such positions. While a person may go in with "good intentions", invariably they will be at some point in their career be expected to do something "not good": cover up for a colleague, arrest someone for law they don't agree with, beat somebody up, and so on. If they do it and remain a cop, well they are a bastard, no matter how many old ladies they help cross the street or whatever.

Let's also not pretend that a full communist utopia where every single law/regulation/rule is fair is possible in our lifetimes (or at all likely), there'll always be people who will want to abuse their power and take control, cops are an easily bought section of society that makes it possible for them. Historically, cops have always sided with the aristocracy/bourgeoisie/land-owners/those with money.

Your thoughts?

What a ridiculous statement from a silly man. There can be no """"""""""peace"""""""""" summit without Russia.

a strategy of weaponizing childhood itself

Another one for the list.

"Shitballoons, Randy!"

South Korea's military confirmed on Wednesday that North Korea had sent over more than 260 balloons carrying feces and trash to the South on Tuesday night, marking the largest-ever daily balloon launch from the North.

Some balloons were still airborne on Wednesday morning.

North Korean defector groups occasionally launch balloons containing materials denouncing the Kim Jong-un regime.

Tuesday's incident of launching “dirty balloons” is not unprecedented. A similar event occurred in 2016 when North Korea sent balloons packed with cigarette butts and used toilet paper.

Hilarious if true.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has urged Western leaders to pressure Russia into peace using "all means" necessary.

Mr Zelensky has long said he will not negotiate with Russia directly until Moscow's forces leave all Ukrainian territory, including Crimea.

His call, however, comes as Russia makes gains against Ukraine, with Kyiv suffering from a shortage of Western-supplied weapons.
