I wish you did. If everyone who thought like you do, started caring and voting and participating, the whole world would be better.

As an American, I think I'd support compulsory voting... But the right would fight that with everything they had, because if everyone had to vote, they'd never win with their current stances.

What the hell does this even mean?

[-] [email protected] 2 points 1 week ago

I don't think there's a spreadsheet app yet. Hopefully soon

To be fair, it's not as clear as it could be that there are other "plus" plans. If you happen to land on the proton mail page when looking, they only show you the mail plus option (and unlimited). And even then really truncate what exactly you get for each paid option. There's a page that I was only able to find after opening my free account (it exists when not logged in, just never found it) that explains in depth all the options and differences.

Annoyingly, most of the individual upgrade pages don't give the 2 year purchase option either.

Exposing their backend code to the public would be inviting bad actors to find loopholes in the logic. Your excuse for how they're not secure is in fact one of their security features. No code is perfect, and you give enough people enough time to peruse through your software they'll find a flaw to exploit. So they only provide their code to 3rd party audit companies they trust.

This is the best comment so far 🤣.

First off, who gives out belts for languages? I've been writing software for over a decade and never got any belts. You'd better believe I'd actually wear that sucker on my gi.

Dude, you've made your point on virtually every comment on this thread. We get it, you don't trust them. The world has given all of us every reason not to blindly trust this sort of thing. But I've done enough digging that I'M happy with the security, and the fact they're not feeding my private content to the AI monster.

Please, for the love of the flying spaghetti monster, don't keep spamming EVERYONE with the same 3 points you've already made elsewhere.

For real, if it's a useful product, and it's free, then YOU'RE the product.

Drive has no Linux client,

~~I'm actually pretty sure they have one. I was doing a lot of exploring the last 2 days to make sure it was worth it to me to spend money on. And I landed on a downloads page on my Linux desktop that had a download link for drive for fedora, or debian. I can't find it on mobile (where I am now), but I'll look later on my PC and see if I can link it.~~

Was wrong, not sure what I found. Must have been the vpn or mail app.

Photos is extremely barebones and locks you basically in, as there is no export function

Interesting, thanks for the heads up. Hopefully it gets better later on, but for the moment I'm glad I made my own solution using a NAS, and a sync client.

Contacts still don't sync

This was one of my first concerns, I'm also annoyed by it.

Additionally, I was hoping their big "docs update" would also include spreadsheets, but hopefully soon.

Look, I agree with you. But the laws are already in place to require a certain amount of physical stability. In the current context, that's just plain nuts, I'd pick just about any other democrat over Biden. Who knows, maybe he'll reject the nomination (like he probably should). And we'll get AOC or Harris or something.

This is promising. Trump just lies (surprised face), Biden just exaggerates or makes small speaking errors. (Among all the brain farts and studdering)

I watched some of it. Super embarrassing for Biden. Added all the fodder Fox needs to make edits and clips until the end of time.

So religion is a pretty common theme in his books. Stormlight and Elantris (more for the latter) have heavy religious influence.

I'm reading Elantris now, and I can't imagine a man who understands religion as well as he does (based on his writing) believes anything about the TSCC. This thought just came to mind as he's describing how the one dude knows how to manipulate the masses, using their pride and shame to his own ends.

Anywho, just throwing that out there. 🤷

Have a great weekend, and a lovely second Saturday everyone!

I've been keeping my pebble 2 alive for a very long time. New battery a few months ago, rewiring the vibrator motor due to the wire breaking at the solder point, new 3d printed buttons.

It's been working great for a very long time. Today, the motor itself is dead, resoldering it yielded no joy.

I think I need to retire this watch. I've asked my brother if I could buy one of his (he backed all the kickstarters) that isn't working any more. I'll replace the battery in it, and get it working again.

It's so sad that these aren't made any more. No significant changes or updates in what, like 7 years, and it still functions nearly perfectly. I wish so badly that someone would pick up where they left off and manufacture some more.

Super weird, noticed it today on his right foreleg just above the elbow joint. Feels like there's something underneath, and had this chunky white protrusion. Can't find an exact match via Google. Expecting some sort of cyst or maybe a blocked gland?
