I think the R is also because she posts all the fucking time about it. I assumed she had some dumb reactionary views but wasn't quite sure why that was so newsworthy (I'm sure lots of people have dumb reactionary views, esp the ultra wealthy). But she literally posts all day every day about it, it's fucking bonkers.

I still play civ v with a few friends pretty much weekly. A couple times a year one of our wives and kids go out of town and we lan party from 4pm to 6am and actually finish a game!

Nicotine helps with neural degeneration and things like dementia and alzheimers.

The Ministry of Time is actually a pretty light fun fiction read about time travel and British spies and such.

They had this in SF a few years ago. The whole "museum" was really shoddy and a big disappointment.

I have a wedgewood gas stove and oven from the 50s. It's "off" temperature is perfect for this, every other week or so I'll rotate one of my cast irons in there following this same method (heat above 400, then cut the heat, and leave the pan in there for the rest of the day in the ambient heat). Just remember to take it out before preheating the oven for dinner!

I dunno what to tell you man. Read the other comments from non white posters in this thread. 90% of them are agreeing with my lived experience, questions like that come across as thinly veiled racism. You don't get to tell people of color what we should take as offensive or not. If you can't understand that, it's on you. Try thinking about it rather than getting defensive.

I'm glad you've got the freedom to say whatever you want and be like "oh dang sorry didn't mean to offend you" (and act like a victim when you get called out on your language being offensive). For those of us who aren't white we don't get such luxuries. Aka your actions (whether you mean it or not doesn't fucking matter) are RACIST

Edit cause I'll actually engage instead of being pissed. You are saying very explicitly with that question that Asian folks don't belong in the south, are alien to it, and are a curiosity. As a south Asian who lived in the south for a number of years the number of yokel ass motherfuckers who had the same attitude is too many to count (dwarfed only by the number of people who were just straight up explicitly racist). We aren't here to satiate your curiosity and if you can't grasp that I dunno what to tell you. Grand on you for being an enlightened centrist, asking a "foreign" person where they are really from (esp in a place with a strong history of systemic racism like the south) ain't cool, full stop.

Jesus people don't even see how racist they are, pretty sad.

Hint - it was quite racist of you to ask that of somebody because they didn't match your stereotypes.

[–] [email protected] 7 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Not OP but I've noticed a lot of racists, extreme right nationalists, religious chauvinists, etc. Which sucks because the concept is quite cool and I'd love to be able to jump from one question to the next, but pretty quickly I get irritated and have to close it.

For $1M I hope it's a couple of keys and not just a bump.

Any recommendations for learning (modern) prolog? Specifically looking at ishigo/prolog and trealla-go as a way to embed rules validation engines in a golang application. Am I insane? If not (or so) how do I best go about learning prolog?
