If we don't all work until we're 90, how will line keep going up?

I'm not sure if McD's did it (we didn't have one in town when I was a kid) but taco bell lists it we a promo they launched in 1990.

Talk about seeing my own mortality slip away before my very eyes. Ha!

Covers a lot of the insane shit they do / have done.

The barrier to entry is pretty low anymore for Linux. There's some really helpful communities here as well. I've ran various versions as secondary OS'es since the early 00's and can pretty confidentially say, its never been easier.

PopOS, Mint and even Ubuntu are super easy to get up and running and Proton makes gaming a breeze like never before.

Absolutely. I grew up in pretty pale places and used to be amazed at how welcoming everyone was and how easy it was to find folk to associate with. Fishing, hunting, camping, all that traditional rural stuff.

After graduating and getting out of the area and seeing some of the world, the veil was been lifted. Those people (as a real broad generalization) were polite and welcoming because I had the right lack of melanin. Now, it's far from the truth all over the States, but the past decade has really radicalized people who used to be on a path to being better.

I see it in the generation before us. There's so much vocalized hate I can't fathom what happened. Family members that coached sports teams that were diverse (for where we lived) are now outright spewing racist rhetoric without a hint of self awareness. It's like watching a people turn evil in a horror novel. I've dropped contact with a vast majority of my family because it's exhausting being quote "the liberal in the room" and dealing with the constant shit they spew.

The lines are so clearly defined it doesn't matter that I helped raise their kids. That we used to ride dirt bikes out in the woods. That I remember their first love and first heartbreak. That I remember sitting on the porch sharing a bottle while we celebrated your first grandchild being born. Or mourned over another bottle as we regaled each other with memories of how amazing your mom was when she'd let us stay up all night camped out in your backyard.

Its all been washed away in a tide of nationalism and unchecked ignorance. I miss my family, but I miss hope in humanity even more. Some day we might bite the hand that bleeds us and take arks against the few that rule the many, but it won't be in a world where social media and propaganda news networks exist.

Until then, I mourn my loved ones every day. Whether I lost them to cancer or fox news or the hopelessness of abject poverty. There's a small part of me that will always be open to letting them back in, but it will never be unconditionally again.

Can we please nuke the vatican? Then continue systematically disassembling all other religions?

Those conversations are wild. I'm a middle age, bearded, tall, chubby white guy that lives in a smaller pnw town and often get blasted in the face with some of the most vial hate speech in passing interactions with these people. It wasn't like this 10 years ago. When we first moved here I was shocked at the shit these guys would openly say to a random stranger. Generally all it takes is a "wrong team bro" for them to get the hint thankfully.

You shouldn't have hate in your heart anyways, but ignorance is endemic in rural areas. Just keep that shit in the barn and trailer park, Carl.

You've got around 9 months left on Win10 supportability. Then it will move in to LTS channels only. It was incredibly well adopted so we have to believe any open vulnerabilities will be targeted quickly and relentlessly. Sadly, we will be in a 11 only world by this time next year.

It's a goddamn democrat samsquanch!

Another article that highlighs inherent flaws in the American legal system. How can this potentially be an actual lawsuit? How can "journalists" even entertain reporting on this?

Honestly I'm just posting to laugh at my fellow lemmings responses and watch see how the plaintiff is roasted for not gitting gud.

But, there is a real conversation here around continued ignorance of game development and the value of difficult games as a value proposition. Afterall, the person attempting to sue from did choose to purchase the games willingly knowing they're not for scrub casuals like themselves.

What do you all think, is difficulty gating content a real issue? Should dev's have some kind of legal requirement to appease players that can spec a build properly? Is it Thursday and I'm just looking for some easy laughs at a morons expense?

So I decided to jump into some call of duty whatever the most current one is now that it's free on game pass.

The first two matches I was spawned into were on shipment. A map that I remember being absolute trash back in the day but it still is. The third match it went to put me in dropped me into that same map as well so I quit before it finished loading. Following this it dumped me into a match in progress where my team was behind by 25 points and there was 12 kills left before it was over.

My question is, why do players seem to vote for this map over any other option most of the time? What is the fun or enjoyment that I am missing out on this box of spam? It's literally nothing but spawn killing and spawn dying.

If you are a person that enjoys these, can you legitimately explain why? I'm not trying to make a troll complaint or anything. Just genuinely interested.

Is this what the modern call of duty experience is like?

submitted 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) by [email protected] to c/[email protected]

Hi all,

Is there a conf change I can make to bypass local address filtering with ProtonVPN on Linux? When I attempt to access NFS and SMB shares on LAN they fail to connect with Proton active.

Thanks!
