because there's no left wing in the US that currently has the infrastructure to protect marginalized people so the most likely outcome will be liberals sitting on their hands while people of color and queer people are murdered. it has the same flaw as accelerationism, we have no way to guarantee something worse won't come out of this.

Joe Biden should drop out but I understand why they aren't replacing him. The Democrats are the most risk adverse political party possible. The question isn't should he drop out but who replaces him. Pick the wrong person and you risk alienating key parts of your base. Do they even beat Trump? I think there's a correct candidate who meets all the parameters to win this year but the democrats are cowards and aren't willing to take the risk.

masks are a good litmus test cuz it's something that actually makes a material difference at the cost of your social capital and looking cool.

i disagree bc you can make wearing a mask look good (especially if you wear a cloth one over a n95.) that's one of the things that annoys me about people not masking, it's actually a really good accessory if you put a little thought into it (and you know, it helps saves lives.)

The trolley problem makes sense in the context it was developed for, which is to be an ethical thought experiment. It's got nothing to do with politics unless you're just a lazy thinker (which Biden fans pretty much are.)

Trump isn't adding to his base either. a lot of independent voters think Trump is corrupt. he is not very popular outside of his base. Biden's strategy is run on anger at the abortion decision and "saving democracy" which might be enough to put him across the finish line but it should be a blow out for democrats if someone who wasn't Biden was running against him.
