I am truly happy that I moved when I did because I have yet to see a ZYBERTRUKKK with my own eyes. blob-sleep

The CPC isn't letting Elon sell his shitty death trap truck here in China, and even if he could, Dongfeng has an electric truck that's better quality and cheaper so only the most Westoid brained Chinese would consider buying one.

Hell, even the functional Tesla's are a rare sight, because electric cars here are simply outpacing them in terms of reliability and features. BYD has a feature where if you plug a car with an empty battery to a full one, the batteries will level out to around 50% each. Like you can do with a gasoline car. I'm pretty sure if tried that with a Cyber Truck, it voids the warranty and has a 50% chance of bricking one or both of the cars.

I wonder if the lack of E-L-O-N genius/expertise can also explain why there's so much high speed rail in China compared to the just about fucking nothing in the disruptive innovative playground that features neon-lit car tunnels in Las Vegas curious-sickle

I have been enjoying just talking to people I know (all Americans) about how shit Teslas are compared to BYD and other Chinese EVs. They write me off as a CPC fanboy (ok, guilty as charged) not only because they consider Teslas to be a “premium” brand, but also because Americans’ egos can’t let them accept that China is doing something better than them.

I’d like to think that one day I’ll get to see their brains break when they realize that the little that Americans do make is dogshit compared to what China can do. But then again, there’s still way too many Americans who think universal health care is less efficient and leads to worse health outcomes than our current system, so they may all just cope until they die.

Lmao the u.s. had to implement a 100% tariff on chinese ev’s to keep american cars competitive. They wouldn’t be doing that if chinese ev’s were actually worse than american ones

My partner called me, extremely confused, when she first saw one. I think she said it looked "like a tank from a really old video game" and I immediately realized what she was talking about.

The design is based on an old Mac game about designing cars, the Cybertruck's profile shape is apparently the design that gave the highest score in wind tunnel tests in game.

It's Gen X nostalgia obscura.

Okay, I'll bite.

Is there any truth to that in real life?

From a cursory bing image search, the most aerodynamic car on the market is:

Which, yeah, because it looks like an aerofoil. Looks like a cyber truck but closer to the ground and uses rounded edges. And also much lighter.

So yeah, the CT would be moderately aerodynamic, but would be better if it wasn't rendered on a 1982 Apple II computer.

Still love the truck though!

The car design is based on an old video game about designing cars. The style of car Cybertrucks are based on ranked highest in wind tunnel tests, probably because it's roughly what an aerofoil rendered on a 1982 Apple II or DOS would look like in car form.

yeah but he designed it with .2 micron tolerances so it's not his fault if nobody is competent enough to make it!!

I know you've been enjoying all these broke ass cybertrucks. I saw a video the other day of this dude just ripping panels off with his hands. If you slam the doors hard they break, all 4 broke. The FRAME BROKE trying to tow another truck

Just lolllll

Ha next time you come across that stuff post it, I crave cybertruck content

[–] [email protected] 7 points 3 months ago

If you like the opposite you should watch videos of people abusing toyota hiluxes, lemme just say they're unkillable. Idk why any other truck gets made.

I mean at least they get a more interesting shape when something falls off, so you're right about that.

[–] [email protected] 11 points 3 months ago

i've seen two cybertrucks in person. one regularly drives around my smallish town, it has the logo for a lawncare business on the side lmao. bet it's a tax write off cause now it's a "business expense". saw another one the other day at the gas station.

honestly, super unpopular opinion- i like how they look. that's about all i like about them but still
