Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Summary

Abortion rights measures succeeded in seven states, though Florida’s proposal fell short of its 60% threshold. But with Donald Trump set for a second term and Republicans likely to control Congress, his administration will likely restrict access nationwide.

Trump may also restrict access via federal agencies, targeting abortion drugs, contraception, and enforcing the Comstock Act against mailing abortion-related materials.

His judicial appointments could further limit reproductive rights.

Women should prepare for these restrictions by considering sterilization, long-acting birth control, and purchasing emergency contraception and abortion pills in advance.

What ever you need to tell yourself to get through what's to come. You carry your share of the responsibility, even if you don't want to acknowledge it.

I share none of the responsibility. Liberals thinking that their party is going to do something different this time, despite their history showing that they won't do anything different shows lack of responsibility.

Imagine if evangelicals sat home in the late 70s and 80s because the GOP wasn't regressive enough for them yet.

You've literally ceded all your political power and are too stupid to see it.

I exercised my political power and refused to vote for the party of Dick Cheney, war, lies, and genocide

You were too lazy to leave the house on a Tuesday evening and are just dressing that up in a way that doesn't make you a shamefully stupid idiot

What you are trying to say is 'fuck you for not voting for MY interests.' I dont support war, genocide, and fascism. Maybe that's something you are comfortable with but enough people were not that she lost, and deservingly so

What you are trying to say is 'fuck you for not voting for MY interests

My interests in this scenario is not having mass deportation, and keeping my gay friends from having their marriages dissolved thus kicking them off their partners healthcare

I dont support war, genocide, and fascism.

Through your inaction — you do, and have.

All you've done is virtual signal, while allowing those you claim to care about to be in a worse position than before.

If you can explain to me how giving the federal government over to the GOP will help any Palestinian in Gaza or the West Bank, I will go away forever. If you can't though, then that proves you don't give a shit about the reality of genocide, only that other people perceive you as being staunchly anti-genocide.

If we lose our ability to marry it will be because of the respect for marriage act that turned out marriages over to the states.

Liberals ignoring genocide along with Biden for the last year and convincing themselves trump would be worse than burning people alive is the group that don't care.
