What a joke of a human being.

What's the riverfronttimes and how are they able the do real journalism?

[-] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago

The Riverfront Times was founded in 1977 as St. Louis's alternative newsweekly. Since then, we've cultivated an audited weekly circulation of 55,000. Because of the pass-along nature of the RFT, our weekly reach is near 200,000 readers.

Ah so sort of like a slightly more journalistic version of The Pitch from the KC area. Which is not to cast shade on either.

He also writes he "did attend in 2019 a private religious Christian Identity Cross lighting ceremony falsely described as a cross burning."

I see the misunderstanding, and now I feel silly for thinking he is a dirty racist ignorant bigot.

I cannot believe I'm the first here to point out that the guy's name just happens to be McClanahan. Did I just eat the Onion??

Update: MO republican party made a statement that he is being removed from the ballot as a Republican. They said that it does not represent their values. Heard it on the news.

"I wasn't actually in the KKK, they just really liked me" is not the argument he thinks it is.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

It the KKK version of "but I didn't inhale."

So he sees it as an honor.

You don't get even a "honorary" membership just so. There is a reason he got that membership, and that should disqualify him from any office.

Seeing this kind of thing temporarily turns me into a William Sherman guy

His first name is literally Shamed.

Wrong guy.

Those revelations came to light last night when former Missouri Representative Shamed Dogan (R-Ballwin) tweeted out a screenshot showing the unofficial candidate filing list for governor posted to the Secretary of State's website. On it, Darrell Leon McClanahan III's name sits atop more well-known GOP contenders like Mike Kehoe and Jay Ashcroft.
