I drove a jeep for 10 years. Terrible commuting/travel vehicle. The entire vehicle is a wind break as illustrated. You go above 70 and it's as loud as a jet inside. Very stiff clutch that made switching gears in traffic unbearable. Only good thing was the indestructible i6 engine but they got rid of that in 07. Still had use in socal with the soft top but I don't know why they would be popular in colder, less mountainous places.
So this is why Jeep drivers trade knowing looks when spotting each other in the wild. It's shared misery.
The happy lil ducks are a coping mechanism.

Aerodynamics are independent of size. Drag goes up or down with size but the aerodynamics stays the same.

Your welcome. A simple way to think about is a truck makes a few hundred horsepower but literally has the aerodynamics of a brick. Where a 747 needs hundreds of thousands of pounds of thrust, but that fucker can fly.

Fair enough. The wrangler would have the same aerodynamics with hood up or down I reckon
