The other car, a sedan, had its entire front sheered off and it looks like the cybertruck might have been at fault. This intersection seems to have a speed limit of 40mph/64kph

Some of that "Faustian individualism" on display here.

I despise the rich assholes that run this state.

When I visited Tampa, the people I stayed with hated having a car there because the environment was so hostile to them even a few miles from the sea. Between that and the bright sun reflecting off the steel, there's something particularly death drive-y about wanting to own a cybertruck in Tampa. They doesn't care who they hurt, be it others or themselves, so long as the world is worse for someone at all times. I will bake in my evaporating truck if it means the chance to destroy a normal car or cause extra injury to a pedestrian.

I know that. Each summer I spend a week on the coast and the windows are grimey with salt from the ocean air by the end of it. A giant iron box on the Gulf Coast can only be worse. It is Juvenalian rather than Faustian in its attempt to be an exemplar of Floridian individualism.

There is something uniquely American about the cyber truck. Actively making yourself and everyone around you less safe while doing the "right thing" ie driving an electric vehicle and also being gaudy as hell the entire time.

Each and every one of them is a micropackaged universe of shit.

All because you want to crowdfund a crude finance capital parody of Henry Ford as he writes The International Jew because you have a weird parasocial relationship with a billionaire. When people write damning histories of this era, I hope the cybertruck is on the cover. It ties together everything bad.

Before the term "enshitifcation" I had a similar observation. Like, even our villains are shittier versions of previous villains. Gone is the era of the golden age oligarchs. Now we just get some k-holed asshole that makes bad cars. Even capitalism was made shitty via capitalism.

i went to a baby shower the other day in this rapid gentrification area of town that i have been avoiding for years. i saw like 3 teslas in as many minutes.

i also heard 2nd hand about a cybertruck parked in the most truly bourgeoisie shithead area. incredible how many rich losers are out there driving around in their L's.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 months ago* (last edited 5 months ago)

I always give Teslas a huge berth because they all drive like assholes.

The damage to the other car, jesus. It's been said before, but it's only a matter of time until they start selling people literal APCs

[–] [email protected] 10 points 5 months ago

That car crumpled and probably saved the occupants. This highlights the another issue with the MemeTruck. It DOES NOT CRUMPLE meaning the energy not absorbed by the vehicle will be transferred to directly to the human body. Theres a reason ppl in tanks wear helmets.

These belong in a car crusher.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 5 months ago

They're already part way to being a cube anyway, might as well help them finish the job.

Wouldn't that violently ignite the battery cell?

Just throw them in the ocean first
