It's the dunk tank.

This is where you come to post big-brained hot takes by chuds, libs, or even fellow leftists, and tear them to itty-bitty pieces with precision dunkstrikes.

Rule 1: All posts must include links to the subject matter, and no identifying information should be redacted.

Rule 2: If your source is a reactionary website, please use archive.is instead of linking directly.

Rule 3: No sectarianism.

Rule 4: TERF/SWERFs Not Welcome

Rule 5: No ableism of any kind (that includes stuff like libt*rd)

Rule 6: Do not post fellow hexbears.

Rule 7: Do not individually target other instances' admins or moderators.

Rule 8: The subject of a post cannot be low hanging fruit, that is comments/posts made by a private person that have low amount of upvotes/likes/views. Comments/Posts made on other instances that are accessible from hexbear are an exception to this. Posts that do not meet this requirement can be posted to [email protected]

Rule 9: if you post ironic rage bait im going to make a personal visit to your house to make sure you never make this mistake again

People like this are absurdly annoying. I knew one IRL and I wanted to beat his smug twathead face with a brick.

It's especially annoying when people are anti piracy over unobtainable games for emulation that one is absurd and those people need their mouth privileges revoked.

Bungiefan_ak btw is a racist and transphobic troll who's made many accounts on many different instances (check the modlog). Says a lot about lemmy.world if the pirate comms were removed because they made a snitch thread.

Naturally, fan of Bungie

Seeing anti-piracy losers is honestly shocking after so long in the hexzone.

Especially now with streaming going completely to shit.

Only R*dditors would be this much of an uncool square.

The only people who could be so fervently anti-piracy are those who always had their parents' money to buy every single film/song/game/etc. they ever wanted, and lacked the empathy to think others might not afford it so easily. Take away all their money and then see how quickly they would justify seeing (without buying) the latest Marvel film that all their friends watched.

If not for piracy I would have no games for my PSP as a kid! And even then, it was a glorified GameBoy Advance emulator!

Lol, having an the capability to distribute information of any kind infinitely, but putting a paywall to it is fine aparently, nevermind running these things as a service or crowd funded, and then distribute for free.

"But what about the devs?" Nothing, they dont see your money, its in the pocket of the shareholders

Unless its an indie game or small artist with direct pay, pirate everything

if this ends in world or dbzero defederating from the other it would be the funniest lemmy drama yet

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Does dbzero have good piracy resources? I'd love to know since they preemptively banned lemmygrad 🙄

[–] [email protected] 41 points 1 year ago (1 children)

yea, its made by the dude that runs r/piracy in reddit, i think he banned you because he is an anarchist

Libby.world amiright

Seriously tho that instance is so square they ain't nothing there you feel me

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Which is all the more amazing that this user found a stance that LW libs agree with us. Its absurd

[–] [email protected] 22 points 1 year ago

I have on specifically for this.

Struggle session: most people who dunk on ip have ridiculous hate boners for ai voices. My brother in Christ, the guy who voices SpongeBob doesn’t own the character, let it sing mariachi songs.

[–] [email protected] 32 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Counterpoint: If AI voices start voicing actual paid / monetized media, voice actors will all be out of work and a highly creative profession dies overnight

[–] [email protected] 19 points 1 year ago

Yeah, voice actors are treated horribly. Not stealing their voices is as much a solidarity thing as anything. Also stealing someone's voice is really icky. A nice gay Dane wrote a whole "Don't build the Torment Nexus" about it.

[–] [email protected] 27 points 1 year ago

Its one thing to create a meme using ai that is largely harmless. Its another to automate away everyones fucking job with ai. Voice actors have it hard enough, ai is the final nail in the coffin for that profession.

Like everything else, the problem isn't the technology, it's capitalism using that technology to fuck over workers.

[–] [email protected] 14 points 1 year ago

Klyde killed it with that last comment.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago

LOL, LIMEWIRE

[–] [email protected] 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

If only they could see this is what libs always sound like.
