I hope it's not only lost on them, I hope they think this means Trump wins by default and won't vote.

I hope everyone votes for Vermin Supreme.

Hey, everyone needs clean teeth and a free pony 👍

I am only slightly doubtful he would be able to fulfill most of his campaign promises. Which is a lot less doubt than I have for every other politician.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago

At least he knows he's full of shit.

His campaign is basically a parody, but he is an actual licensed legal attorney..

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Where the hell are we keeping all of these ponies, and how will we afford their food and healthcare?

[–] [email protected] 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

We'll put them under the new PonyCare plan, and brush their teeth every day, after they finish eating the grass...

Remember when all the democrats lined up at the courthouse to spew lies and slander about the judge, jury, and called it a rigged judiciary system?

Yeah, do not let any mainstream media assholes do the tried and tested “both sides are the same” bullshit.

Can we please, please stop posting screenshots of articles instead of links to them? It's way less useful and not at all easier.

Only exception is pay walled stuff that isn't easily worked around ...

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Ctrl-C, ctrl-v. Thank me later.

I do this because I dislike giving ad revenue or traffic to many of these sites. But you're right - it can be annoying if it looks interesting and I'll try to include the archive org link

[–] [email protected] 1 points 4 months ago

Perfect, thanks

In a sub (community?) called PoliticalMemes I assumed it was a fake article…

Seems to be the rule in a lot (most? All?) of the news subs. In those cases I just report them for breaking the community rules…

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago

It's a real satire article

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Actually I have crap internet and the screenshots are much better. Half the time I try to load a website, it fails. Lemmy fails lots too, but it's better trying again until all the Lemmy screenshots load in than having to try and load each meme on a remote website five times.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

So you're mostly here for the memes?

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I'd normally agree, but Newsthump is no The Onion. You've seen the best of it right there in the picture. It's like listening to Emo Philips read one of his own jokes.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

Easier for me to figure that out and judge the publication if I can actually read it.

[–] [email protected] 0 points 4 months ago (1 children)

The original source is like the top post on Lemmy now. And has been in various coms in the main feed all day.

[–] [email protected] 2 points 4 months ago

I've seen it. I'm saying can we stop this practice?

[–] [email protected] 22 points 4 months ago (1 children)

He needs 33 more before he can try again.

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Criminally (pun intended) underrated comment

[–] [email protected] 19 points 4 months ago (2 children)

They wouldn’t get it since multiple felony convictions are apparently not a blocker to run for president… they’re simply a fundraising opportunity!

[–] [email protected] 13 points 4 months ago

Although, I heard yesterday that Trump is not allowed to associate with other convicted felons, which is like everyone he associates with. Not going to help the rallies.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 4 months ago (1 children)

As much as I'd like Trump not to run, you really don't want to disqualify people from running bcz of a criminal record. That opens us up to fake criminal prosecutions just to disqualify your political opponents.

[–] [email protected] 5 points 4 months ago (1 children)

True, but that’s why people are supposed to be innocent until proven guilty.

[–] [email protected] 8 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Sure, but you can stack courts with judges who could do things like turn a blind eye to jury intimidation.

And like, do we know anyone who would doxx jurors and ask to the violent masses "won't someone rid me of this turbulent priest?" Or who would stack judges?

A would-be dictator is the exact thing the founding fathers built a constitution to protect against, and this design is no accident. A popular candidate can't be sidelined by a dictator.

Their failing was that they vastly overestimated the competency of the electorate, and the competency of the electorate was what their imagined vaccine against dictatorship was. Without it, the entire concept of democracy kinda falls apart.

[–] [email protected] 15 points 4 months ago

His defense should have been: "A hunter needs his gun."

[–] [email protected] 7 points 4 months ago

i just love how popular this is as you know it will be in front of the orange turnips face a few times.

its just got to eat him up being that narcissistic and a convicted felon

[–] [email protected] 3 points 4 months ago

Well, good- I sure as hell wasn’t going to vote for a filthy, slimy criminal with a drug problem

Wait, he was running? Did someone care? Like did he have any realistic change that anyone would like him to get through the primaries? I mean he certainly didn't have the chance to get through them but maybe he had like 1 Supporter somewhere or something
