I never understood this shit to be more than a ploy by extremist conservatives to prevent change via confusion. No one I know says anything else than "oat milk", "vegan cheese" etc..

The only reasoning I can come up with is that it’s another way to marginalize another group and label them as “other.”
They don’t want to spend 10 seconds to self-reflect and maybe admit what they’re doing is cruel to the animals, and instead they’ll do stuff like this to minimize others promoting animal welfare.
Agree. I wanted to make a case that it is confusing, but it is not really a big problem. It could lead to me buying wrong "burger" for a grill party, but hey we are gonna eat it anyway. And it will not be disgusting. If someone is into some specific quality meat, they will read the whole label.
