FYI Kellanova is the corporate name for Kellogg’s snack brands and cereal outside of North America. Weirdly, while WK Kelloggs (the NA cereal company) and Kellanova are separate companies now, they share the Kellogg’s brand name.

Mostly just shocked that there's still room to get crappier. That's like half the point of mergers and acquisitions, "I bet we could make some more profits by reducing quality lower than the company currently doing it and people would still buy it."
I agree. I wasn't being ironic—Pringles are one of my final treats that I still enjoy. This piggy is running out of slop.

business consolidation especially in tech, food, and entertainment tells me there's just some really awful shit on the horizon - we like to act like these things are purely greed driven things, and while that's a huge element of why this shit happens, it also feels like... frankly, a more direct consolidation of power in anticipation of precipitous decline in material conditions for the folks without investiture in these rapidly consolidating and monopolized industries.

How come when this happens in most places most people can immediately smell the enshittification to come but in some media credulous rubes say "my treats will get cheaper/I will have more epic crossovers happening because the IPs have come together, don't care" instead?
